Sound is one of King County’s most comprehensive providers of quality mental health and addiction treatment services, supporting our area’s most vulnerable populations. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Expanded Community Services (ECS) program is a community-based team that works with clients placed in Adult Family Homes (AFHs) throughout the community. </p>\n<p>Clients have both behavioral and medical issues with a history of lost placements. Clinicians are assigned to a region so that they are able to devote their time to working with clients and the AFH staff in a particular area. Plenty of opportunities to think outside the box.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides, direct services and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy. </li>\n <li>Prepares necessary reports, summaries and progress notes, and incorporates into clinical records. </li>\n <li>Performs consultations and liaison duties with other agencies and resources on behalf of the client. </li>\n <li>Assists client to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services. </li>\n <li>Provides consultation and behavioral support for ECS residential providers. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance. </li>\n <li>Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures. </li>\n <li>Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations and in-service training. </li>\n <li>Participates in ongoing program development and assessment. </li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPS</strong> </p>\n<p>Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, clients, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations, and is respectful of individual and cultural differences. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Understands the principles of individual therapy, group therapy and/or case management approach to providing services. </li>\n <li>Possesses strong working knowledge of the mental and/or behavioral health and support resources of King County, and is familiar with state and local health delivery systems, including knowledge of various funding principles and clinical services mandates. </li>\n <li>Understands recovery concepts in behavioral health; synthesizes and applies, as appropriate to their work at Sound. </li>\n <li>Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly, and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, while simultaneously managing crises. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to demonstrate the capacity to appreciate and work well with the complex and diverse population. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a counseling-related field. </li>\n <li>2 years of clinical experience as a clinician or case manager working with emotionally disturbed and chronically mentally ill clients preferred </li>\n <li>Experience with medical issues as related to the geriatric population is preferred and crisis experience is strongly preferred as well. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of hire. </li>\n <li>Mental Health Professional (MHP) designation is required.</li>\n <li>Washington State driver’s license and insurable driving record required. </li>\n <li>Geriatric Mental Health Specialist (GMHS) designation preferred. </li>\n <li>Must successfully pass criminal background checks.  </li>\n <li>Must have a WA state driver’s license and insurable driving record as well as reliable</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong> </p>\n<p>To successfully perform the essential duties of this Job, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day. Individuals must be able to engage vendors, team members, clients and others over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of the Job.
