This position helps lead Hourigan’s Safety and Health Management System, manage and ensure compliance, and promote a safety-first mindset across the organization.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Provide safety leadership and set an example of following all safe work practices and procedures</li><li>Involved in incident and near miss investigations&nbsp;</li><li>Conduct routine jobsite visits and inspections; document and share findings as well as lessons learned with the team and management</li><li>Involved in regulatory inspections and investigations; receive and coordinate the regulators visit</li><li>Maintain workplace safety records including OSHA required documentation, logs, and posting</li><li>Track and monitor organizational safety trends and assist with developing and implementing corrective actions</li><li>Create and review safety trainings and materials; coordinate and conduct trainings and toolbox talks across the organization</li><li>Conduct safety orientations for all new hires and others as needed</li><li>Assist the Regional Safety Manager and Corporate Safety Director with interviewing and hiring safety personnel&nbsp;</li><li>Promote and implement a proactive and positive safety culture</li><li>Participate in safety and industry seminars, networking, and committees</li><li>Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes in line with the Hourigan SHMS.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Qualifications and Experience:</strong></u></p><ul><li>BS in Safety and Health or related degree, and/or equivalent experience</li><li>Experience working on mission critical and data center job sites</li><li>10 years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety in a Commercial Construction environment is preferred</li><li>OSHA 30, OSHA 510, and OSHA 500 certifications are required</li><li>CSP, CHST, or similar professional certification is preferred</li><li>Knowledgeable of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods</li><li>Strong understanding and knowledge of OSHA and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality laws, regulations, and policies</li><li>Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and speaking</li><li>Excellent organizational, supervisory, decision making, and problem-solving skills are essential</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, Power Point, Project, etc.)</li><li>Applies a customer-centric mindset to all work efforts</li><li>Approaches challenges with empathy, multiple solutions, and collaboration</li><li>Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated with the ability to work equally well individually or in a team setting.</li><li>Approach every responsibility and interaction with a high level of integrity, fairness, care, and concern</li><li>Lead forward by seeing challenges as a way to create new possibilities and solutions&nbsp;</li><li>Consistently deliver beyond expectations to provide exceptional results&nbsp;</li><li>Some travel required</li></ul><p>We offer our full-time employees a competitive benefits package including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, and life insurances, short-term and long-term disability, 401k employer match, and paid time off.</p><p><br></p><p>The summary of essential duties and responsibilities listed above is not intended to cover all possible job duties and is subject to change at our discretion.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Hourigan is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
