    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong><u>PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><span>Primary responsibility is to generate banquet revenue for the hotel within the designated market(s) through goals set by the Director of Catering. The scope of the goals includes being an integral participant in the initiatives set forth for the Catering Sales Department, the Sales and Marketing Department and the hotel. Goals include prospecting for new business, developing lasting relationships with current planners and developing new business opportunities.</span></p>\n<p><span><strong><u>RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:</u></strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services/features and hours of operation.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain complete knowledge of computer according to specifications.</span></li>\n <li><span>Access all functions of computer according to specifications.</span></li>\n <li><span>Set up workstation with necessary supplies and resource materials; maintain cleanliness throughout shift.</span></li>\n <li><span>Handle inquiry calls according to departmental procedure.</span></li>\n <li><span>Handle guest complaints by following instant pacification procedures ensuring guest satisfaction.</span></li>\n <li><span>Promote positive relations with guests and employees.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain high level of knowledge in reference to The Langham brand and philosophy.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain high level of knowledge of the competition's product.</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintain good relationships with counterparts at competing hotels; promote all Langham Hotels whenever possible.</span></li>\n <li><span>Design and work within market plan; Maintain file database.</span></li>\n <li><span>Meet solicitation and maintenance call requirements; make outside sales calls, handle all incoming inquiries.</span></li>\n <li><span>Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant manner, within two rings, using correct salutations and Langham telephone etiquette.</span></li>\n <li><span>Anticipate and respond to all customer needs within a timely manner, acknowledge all customers, however busy and whatever time of day.</span></li>\n <li><span>Follow-up with in-house guest to ensure on-going service to the guest.</span></li>\n <li><span>Plan and prepare appointments for sales trips, follow-up in a timely manner.</span></li>\n <li><span>Attend designated trade show.</span></li>\n <li><span>Attend departmental and hotel meetings as required.</span></li>\n <li><span>Entertain customer in all outlets as necessary.</span></li>\n <li><span>Successfully complete the training/certification process for position.</span></li>\n <li><span>Process paperwork to clients, other departments, etc., within a timely manner.&nbsp;
