Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger is an outpatient mental health clinic specializing in treating psychological trauma. Candidates with clinical experience with marginalized groups and champions of social justice are encouraged to apply. The Center for Child and Family Traumatic is nationally recognized as a center of excellence for treating childhood trauma and is affiliated with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>1. Provide individual, family, or group psychotherapy services to children and their families.</p>\n<p>2. Conduct evaluations, including diagnostic assessments, to determine appropriate treatment modality.</p>\n<p>3. Participate in research and training to develop new assessment and treatment strategies for children, youth, and families with neurodevelopmental disabilities and trauma.</p>\n<p>4. Collaborate with the referring agency to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatment services in the development of the service plan for the child and the family.</p>\n<p>5. Collaborate with the school system to assure that the children are receiving appropriate educational services, if indicated.</p>\n<p>6. Participate in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for the purpose of review of clinical work.</p>\n<p>7. Attend in-service clinical training programs, treatment planning meeting, and necessary administrative meetings.</p>\n<p>8. Maintain client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff.</p>\n<p>9. Maintain the medical record for each client seen which includes a treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summary.</p>\n<p>10. May participate in the field instruction program and supervise social work trainees when interest and capacity are demonstrated. May participate in specialized clinics focused on particular conditions or treatments</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists at the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) level.</li>\n <li>Must possess and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have either </li>\n <li>A Master’s degree in professional counseling or related field with a minimum of 60 graduate semester credit hours or 90 graduate quarter credit hours <strong>OR</strong></li>\n <li>A Doctoral degree with a minimum of 90 graduate semester credit hours or 135 graduate credit hours.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum two years of licensed clinical experience related to providing services to children in the child welfare population with developmental and emotional disturbance required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p>Kennedy Krieger Institute offers excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, tuition reimbursement, student debt relief program, free parking and child care subsidies!
