    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Hiring Range:  $29.06-$38.93</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience.</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or G.E.D.;</li>\n <li>Current recognized certification as a Master Plumber and Gas Fitter;</li>\n <li>Five (5) years or more of experience as a Plumbing, Gas Fitter or HVAC Installer;</li>\n <li>Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain/maintain a City of Hoover Driver's Permit;</li>\n <li>Possession of a Mechanical or Plumbing certification from the International Code Council or the ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of employment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plumbing experience in both residential and commercial.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for conducting inspections of mechanical, gas and plumbing installations, both residential and commercial;</li>\n <li>Enforcing codes and ordinances to ensure compliance and safety;</li>\n <li>Interpreting codes and ordinances for construction professionals and the general public to clarify information;</li>\n <li>Maintaining inspection records by filing, researching, and documenting records;</li>\n <li>Reviewing plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances;</li>\n <li>Engages in activities designed to ensure professional development and awareness of developments in the fields;</li>\n <li>Knowledge of relevant practices, laws, rules, policies, and/or guidelines; </li>\n <li>Conducting inspections related to life safety, accessibility, and natural disasters to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances; </li>\n <li>Issues notices of violations where unsafe or non-code compliant conditions exist and conducts follow-up inspections to ensure corrections are made;</li>\n <li>Performs related work as required.</li>\n</ul>",
