Applying knowledge of engineering principles to design products including involvement in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of material handling system components. The material handling systems include power & free conveyors (P&F), skid conveyors, electrified monorail systems (EMS), friction drive systems (FDS), skillet conveyors, slat chain conveyors, vertical drop lifts (VDLs), automatic storage/retrieval systems (ASRS), fork/robot transfers, automatic guided carts (AGCs).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Other responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Engineering assignments related to electrical control system design and detailing using a CAD system; wiring diagrams, control panels, and electrical device layouts</li>\n <li>PLC programming for material handling systems</li>\n <li>HMI designing for material handling systems</li>\n <li>Define electrical components to be used in an electrical control system</li>\n <li>Generate Bill of Material that satisfies customer specifications and system specifics</li>\n <li>Write documents describing conveyor system functionality including Sequence of Operations</li>\n <li>Perform calculations related to control panel design including power distribution</li>\n <li>Perform calculations related to validating cycle time and safe distance calculations</li>\n <li>Perform calculations related to validating control systems communications (ENet, DNet…)</li>\n <li>Design and validate VFD parameters for multiple conveyor types (including load sharing)</li>\n <li>Lead commissioning of PLC logic and HMI screens in shop trials and field environment</li>\n <li>Perform plant and construction site field inspections</li>\n <li>Oversee skilled trades (electricians, mill wrights, pipe fitters) during installation of conveyor systems</li>\n <li>Assist in debugging field wiring issues with electricians</li>\n <li>Lead project meetings and generate meeting minutes</li>\n <li>Ability to supervise other engineers, assigning tasks, scheduling shifts and checking work</li>\n <li>Must be able to climb ladders and scaffoldings and be physically capable of sitting, standing and/or walking for long periods of time</li>\n <li>Interface with customer engineers when gathering system requirements and translating the requirements to functional technical specifications</li>\n <li>Communicate with customers, vendors and departments as needed</li>\n <li>Perform other tasks as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D software is required, AutoCAD 3D software or similar is a plus</li>\n <li>Knowledge of industrial control systems</li>\n <li>Experience with PLC programming (ControlLogix, Mitsubishi, Omron, GE, Siemens…)</li>\n <li>Experience with HMI screen design such as GE, PanelView, PROFACE…</li>\n <li>Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting</li>\n <li>Knowledge of electrical standards (National Electric Code, ANSI, OSHA)</li>\n <li>Familiar with electrical codes including NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A</li>\n <li>Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously</li>\n <li>Demonstrated PC skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li>\n <li>Works precisely and pays close attention to details</li>\n <li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and adhere to project timelines and budgets</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Must be self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment</li>\n <li>A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.</li>\n <li>Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals</li>\n <li>Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge</li>\n <li>Experience with material handling equipment</li>\n <li>Knowledge of automotive manufacturing</li>\n <li>Must be available to work weekends, nights, overtime, and holidays, as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to travel to Project Sites as required (including international travel to Canada and Mexico)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BS in Electrical Engineering preferred</li>\n <li>5-10+ years’ experience in Electrical Engineering and control systems design</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Daifuku offers an excellent compensation package including great benefits such as excellent medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays, 401K, Flexible Spending Programs, and more. </strong></p>\n<p><strong>  </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Daifuku is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
