    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Plumber III</strong></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Job Overview</strong></p>\n<p>The Plumber III is responsible for servicing all plumbing and piping systems.&nbsp; The incumbent should be licensed with a CCCDI License and will also be expected to resolve mechanical maintenance problems on a limited basis. &nbsp;Reports to Plumbing and Mechanical Maintenance Manager. This is a full-time position and pays $41-$46/hr.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ol>\n <li>Maintain plumbing, piping systems, and equipment systems as required.</li>\n <li>Install, remodel, repair, and maintain all plumbing equipment and systems with thorough checking of work. This includes commercial kitchen equipment and some fire sprinkler systems.</li>\n <li>Maintain the following professional license: Illinois Environmental Protections Agency, Division of Public Water Supplies, Cross Connection Control Device Inspector License.</li>\n <li>Read mechanical prints and technical information.</li>\n <li>Consult and work with contractors or service representatives on projects.</li>\n <li>Use lock-out/tag-out procedure, personal protective equipment and safe work practices as instructed.</li>\n <li>Inform \"customers\" through supervisor of any interruption in services before service shutdown.</li>\n <li>Respond to campus emergencies during or after regular working hours.</li>\n <li>Keep all tools, equipment and work are as clean and in good repair.</li>\n <li>Support multi-trade tasks and perform duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Continue personal growth in the job and conduct oneself ethically at all times to enhance the image of Wheaton College and the Facilities Department.</li>\n <li>Carry out various preventive maintenance programs.</li>\n <li>Supervise and train part-time workers as directed.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time, and other duties may be assigned.&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Professional Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ol>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Five or more years of plumbing experience consisting of both commercial and residential experience.</li>\n <li>Must have Plumbing License from State of Illinois, and CCDI from State</li>\n <li>Should have in depth understanding of plumbing terminology, equipment names, and the systems and processes involved with equipment.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and understand mechanical prints and technical equipment and installation information.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently on both routine and complex tasks.</li>\n <li>Disciplined and mature outlook toward work responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Must have and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.</li>\n</ol>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.5in\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Faith Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Affirmation of the Wheaton College Statement of Faith as a faithful expression of one’s own theological convictions</li>\n <li>Affirmation of the biblical standards for Christian character and God-honoring behavior described throughout the Wheaton College Community Covenant, and promise to adhere to them in personal practice</li>\n <li>Support of the Wheaton College Christ-Centered Diversity Commitment, the Gender Equity Vision Statement, and the College’s Convictions on Human Sexuality.&nbsp; These commitments can be found on the Wheaton College website.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, stand on a ladder or scaffolding, reach, squat and work with hands above head for long periods of time.&nbsp; Required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel objects and work outside during all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)&nbsp; Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.</p>\n<p><strong>FLSA Status -&nbsp;</strong>Non Exempt</p>\n<p><strong>Updated</strong>&nbsp;(10/2020)&nbsp;</p>",
