  "externalDescription": " Duties Responsibilities Leadership Supervision 1.\tDirectly supervise, manage, and evaluate Building Automation staff. 2.\tEstablish work priorities, staffing plans, performance expectations, and professional development goals. 3.\tOversee promotional evaluations, succession planning, and skills progression within the DDC Specialist series. 4.\tFoster a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Technical Oversight System Governance 1.\tProvide technical authority for BAS and EAC programming standards, system architecture, global programming practices, and integrations. 2.\tApprove advanced programming strategies, server-level configurations, network design, and third-party integrations. 3.\tEnsure system reliability, redundancy, and system migration for BAS/EAC platforms. 4.\tProvide support and oversight of building analytics. Capital Projects Engineering Coordination 1.\tServe as the primary BAS/EAC representative for capital projects, renovations, and major system upgrades. 2.\tReview and provide insight to specifications, sequences of operation, shop drawings, submittals, and commissioning documentation for compliance with campus standards. 3.\tCoordinate with engineering, construction management, vendors, and manufacturers throughout project lifecycles. Strategic Planning Continuous Improvement 1.\tLead long-term planning for BAS/EAC/FDD modernization, expansion, and lifecycle replacement. 2.\tAnalyze system performance, utilization, alarms, trends, and energy data to support operational and sustainability goals. 3.\tAssist in development and maintain standards, policies, documentation, and best practices. Operational Support Incident Management 1.\tProvide leadership during critical system outages, emergencies, and after-hours incidents. 2.\tEscalate and coordinate complex troubleshooting involving multiple trades, IT, vendors, or manufacturers. 3.\tEnsure appropriate 24/7 emergency coverage and on-call rotation within the DDC group. Training, Communication Stakeholder Engagement 1.\tEnsure consistent training and knowledge transfer across the DDC team. 2.\tAct as the primary point of contact for campus stakeholders regarding BAS/EAC capabilities, limitations, and initiatives. 3.\tCommunicate system impacts, planned outages, and major changes to affected groups.
