Description

Duties Responsibilities Leadership Supervision 1. Directly supervise, manage, and evaluate Building Automation staff. 2. Establish work priorities, staffing plans, performance expectations, and professional development goals. 3. Oversee promotional evaluations, succession planning, and skills progression within the DDC Specialist series. 4. Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Technical Oversight System Governance 1. Provide technical authority for BAS and EAC programming standards, system architecture, global programming practices, and integrations. 2. Approve advanced programming strategies, server-level configurations, network design, and third-party integrations. 3. Ensure system reliability, redundancy, and system migration for BAS/EAC platforms. 4. Provide support and oversight of building analytics. Capital Projects Engineering Coordination 1. Serve as the primary BAS/EAC representative for capital projects, renovations, and major system upgrades. 2. Review and provide insight to specifications, sequences of operation, shop drawings, submittals, and commissioning documentation for compliance with campus standards. 3. Coordinate with engineering, construction management, vendors, and manufacturers throughout project lifecycles. Strategic Planning Continuous Improvement 1. Lead long-term planning for BAS/EAC/FDD modernization, expansion, and lifecycle replacement. 2. Analyze system performance, utilization, alarms, trends, and energy data to support operational and sustainability goals. 3. Assist in development and maintain standards, policies, documentation, and best practices. Operational Support Incident Management 1. Provide leadership during critical system outages, emergencies, and after-hours incidents. 2. Escalate and coordinate complex troubleshooting involving multiple trades, IT, vendors, or manufacturers. 3. Ensure appropriate 24/7 emergency coverage and on-call rotation within the DDC group. Training, Communication Stakeholder Engagement 1. Ensure consistent training and knowledge transfer across the DDC team. 2. Act as the primary point of contact for campus stakeholders regarding BAS/EAC capabilities, limitations, and initiatives. 3. Communicate system impacts, planned outages, and major changes to affected groups. Other Duties 1. Perform other duties as assigned in support of Utilities Energy Services objectives. Adhere to F S mission, vision, and values.
