Description

Position Summary Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Security Visitor Control Monitor supporting the Space Systems Command (SSC) System Delta 85 (SYD 85) in the United States Space Force which consists of ground-based radars and command and control systems. The System Delta delivers integrated Space Domain Awareness (SDA), missile warning and tracking, Command, Control, and Communication (C3), Battle Management, and Space Intelligence capabilities for the USSF and joint warfighters. As the Visitor Control Monitor, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop while being a cornerstone of the facilities security team. Responsibilities The Contractor shall provide the following security support services for SSC SYD 85/S4 operations on Peterson SFB: Perform entry and access controls 12 hours/day, 5 days/week for Building 1840, Peterson AFB. Building 1840 contains one entry point requiring such controls. The contractor shall continually monitor all persons entering and leaving Building 1840 to ensure that only authorized persons are permitted entry and that accountable U.S. Government equipment and classified media is not transported out of the building without proper authorization and monitor vehicles for suspicious activities. Ingress controls shall include employee badge checks, identification and control of visitors (using an SYD 85 controlled database) and issuance of visitor badges, an examination of any suspicious packages/objects carried into the building, continuous monitoring of alarm panels and re-setting alarms as required, coordination with SYD security personnel on any unusual situation or problem, and notification of emergency conditions to the Installation Security Forces and/or Fire Department. Egress controls shall include collection of issued visitor badges, an observation of items/objects being carried by persons leaving the building and, if computer hardware or test equipment is being carried, the individual shall be asked to produce a hand receipt or other written authorization for removal of the item from the building. If no written authorization can be produced, an SYD security person shall be summoned immediately. Contractor personnel shall comply with the applicable portions of the building 1840 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) written by SYD 85 Security. A copy of this SOP shall be maintained at each entry control desk. Contractor personnel shall assist SYD 85 Security in conducting Random Anti-terrorism Measures (random security checks in and around the building), Building emergency evacuations, and other documentation related to control of entry at Building 1840. The contractors will assist SYD 85 Security with any other duties that the Commander, the Chief of Security, or the members of the security staff direct to provide for the safety and security of U.S. Government resources and personnel. Ensure administrative and physical measures are in place to mitigate vulnerabilities that jeopardize human life and physical property. Escort personnel Assistances the Prime Facility Manager, Commander, the Chief of Security, or the members of the security staff direct to provide for the safety and security of U.S. Government resources and personnel. Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance Education: High School DiplomaYears of Experience: 4 years of security experience, 2 years in DoD. Preferred Qualifications Clearance: Top SecretEducation: Some college and/or Technical TrainingAdditional Experience: Military background Technical Skills • Knowledge of Operational Security (OPSEC) and Information Security (INFOSEC) principles as they apply to Department of War (DoW) and Space Force missions.• Knowledge of counter-surveillance indicators and the basic principles of identifying "insider threat" behaviors within a restricted facility.• Skill in utilizing integrated security software, automated visitor management systems (VMS), and digital logging protocols.• Ability to rapidly synthesize data from visual observations, alarm systems, and databases to make informed security decisions under pressure. Interpersonal Skills • Knowledge of military etiquette, rank structure, and the organizational hierarchy of Space Systems Command (SSC) to properly interact with personnel.• Skill in conflict de-escalation and professional interpersonal communication when enforcing facility restrictions or denying property removal.• Skill in delivering firm but courteous customer service while processing visitors and managing expectations at the entry control point.• Ability to communicate technical security requirements clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior military officers and civilian contractors.• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor, sustained mental alertness, and high-level vigilance throughout the duration of the work shift.
