We are looking for passionate educators who love working with young children and are committed to creating a positive learning environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We welcome individuals who are eager to learn, grow professionally, and participate in on-the-job training, making this an excellent opportunity for both experienced educators and those looking to begin a rewarding career in early childhood education.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>As an Toddler Teacher, you will:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Provide</strong> a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that supports the health, well-being, and development of toddlers.</li>\n <li><strong>Plan and implement</strong> age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and language development through hands-on learning and play.</li>\n <li><strong>Encourage</strong> independence, self-confidence, and positive social interactions while supporting each child's individual developmental needs.</li>\n <li><strong>Build</strong> positive relationships with families through daily communication and collaboration to support each child's growth and success.</li>\n <li><strong>Follow</strong> all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program policies while participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Compensation Based on education and experience</li>\n <li>Employee Discounted Day Care</li>\n <li>Health Insurance-Medical, Vision & Dental</li>\n <li>Paid Holiday's & Holiday Pay</li>\n <li>Benefit Time: Vacation, Sick, Personal Days</li>\n <li>Short Term & Long Term Disability</li>\n <li>403B & Pension Plan, after one year of service</li>\n <li>Tuition Remittance Program & Paid Training</li>\n <li>Loan Forgiveness Program</li>\n <li>On-Site Covered Paid Parking</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Overview of job responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum for toddlers using the Early Head Start curriculum. </li>\n <li>Lead, support, and mentor classroom staff through collaboration, coaching, and professional development opportunities.</li>\n <li>Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.</li>\n <li>Monitor and assess children's developmental progress, complete required screenings and assessments, and coordinate referrals as needed.</li>\n <li>Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including attendance, lesson plans, observations, health checks, and TSG (Teaching Strategies Gold data).</li>\n <li>Build positive partnerships with families through ongoing communication and parent engagement.</li>\n <li>Participate in trainings, meetings, and agency initiatives while supporting the mission and values of the organization.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Qualifications require the following for the role of Teacher:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Clearance through NYS Central Registry (SCR) is required.</li>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n <li> Minimum one year experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 3 years.</li>\n <li>Child Development Associates (CDA) Credential required within the first year of employment.</li>\n <li>Prior experience working with children or in a day care and classroom setting.</li>\n <li>Must meet NYS/Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations requirements.</li>\n <li>Must meet health standards for OCFS licensing, be able to lift up to 40 pounds and be able to participate in all developmentally appropriate activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Our Day Care Environment:  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support program needs to ensure classroom ratios are met at all times.</li>\n <li>Position has both internal contacts within the organization and external contacts within the community, which require considerable tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. </li>\n <li>The utmost of integrity is required to safeguard confidential proprietary information. </li>\n <li>Weather permitting daily walks and outdoor activities with the children.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer:</strong>  <em>The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer and committed to providing a respectful environment for all applicants and employees that is free from unlawful discrimination or harassment based on age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital status, disability, citizenship, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or any other characteristic protected by law</em></p>",
