Financially stable, growing and with over 30 years of experience, we have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Forklift Mechanic in Cordele, GA. As a member of the Union Compress team, you will have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career that may exceed your expectations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.</li><li>Interpret manufacturers technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed.</li><li>Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic system, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and or malfunctions.</li><li>Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and /or order replacement parts for major repairs.</li><li>Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operations.</li><li>Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor.</li><li>Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required.</li><li>Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.</li><li>Maintain an organized and neat work area.</li><li>Competent to complete legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks.</li><li>Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to work on LP, gas and diesel systems.&nbsp;</li><li>Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.</li><li>Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.</li><li>Availability and willingness to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, evenings and weekends.</li><li>Must be able to bend, stand, and walk throughout the day.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>BENEFITS</strong></p><p>Union Compress offers a competitive salary and annual bonus program along with comprehensive benefits that include:</p><ul><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Employer Paid Health Insurance</li><li>Dental Insurance</li><li>Vision Insurance</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>401(k) with Company matching</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
