You are comfortable working within large codebases, debugging existing implementations, and collaborating with other engineers through code reviews.</p><p>You have strong verbal and written communication skills that enable effective collaboration with a global engineering team, and you take ownership of your growth by proactively seeking feedback from peers, managers, and stakeholders.</p><h3><br><strong>How You Will Make Impact</strong></h3><p>You will contribute to the delivery of backend systems and APIs by breaking down larger projects into individual tasks and delivering them incrementally. Your work will support the product development lifecycle through close collaboration with product management, design, and analytics, ensuring technical decisions properly consider constraints, risks, and trade offs.</p><p>Your impact will be reflected in the quality, scalability, and reliability of the systems you help build and maintain.</p><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases with the support of your tech lead and manager.</li><li>Collaborate with other members of the team to deliver assigned tasks.</li><li>Support the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that consider risks and trade offs.</li><li>Design, develop, and launch backend systems and APIs.</li><li>Navigate large codebases, debug others&#8217; code, and provide feedback through code reviews.</li><li>Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and participating in on call and &#8220;keep the lights on&#8221; efforts.</li><li>Contribute to team community and growth by participating in development activities such as the interview process.</li><li>Use version control systems such as Git and GitHub to create, update, and commit pull requests.</li></ul><h3><strong>You Have:</strong></h3><ul><li>2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.</li><li>Experience building backend systems and APIs.</li><li>Experience developing APIs using <strong>Kotlin</strong>; <strong>Python may be present in some codebases</strong>.</li><li>Experience with <strong>typed backend languages</strong>; <strong>Kotlin or Java</strong>, with <strong>C#</strong> as an acceptable alternative.</li><li>Familiarity with <strong>AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes</strong>.</li><li>Experience with <strong>JavaScript / TypeScript</strong>.</li><li>Experience building web apps with <strong>React.</strong></li><li>Experience creating <strong>Playwright UI tests</strong> and backend tests for <strong>Kotlin and Python</strong> codebases.</li><li>Ability to deliver clear, well tested, and maintainable code.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree or equivalent practical experience.</li></ul><h3></h3><h3><strong>Equal Opportunity Statement</strong></h3><p><em>At MAS Global, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our identity.
