Work Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 10-hour days, 40 hours/week ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all electrical systems meet safety codes and support the integrity of secure environments, including data centers, communication hubs, and operational facilities. Implement protective measures such as surge protection, grounding, and secure conduit routing to prevent unauthorized access or system compromise. Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and facilities teams to align electrical infrastructure with agency-wide security frameworks (e.g., NIST, NFPA 70E). Document electrical configurations, service logs, and compliance activities in accordance with TMD policy. Coordinate the installation, replacement, and maintenance of electrical systems, apparatus, circuits, and electrical components of machinery and equipment. Coordinate the inspection, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, lighting, and power circuits. Develop plans and specifications of maintenance and renovation projects. Estimate time and material used on projects. Review the layout of electrical wiring to ensure compliance with specifications and electrical codes. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes. Maintain records and prepare reports on repairs and service to equipment. Plan and coordinate the installation of electrical systems. Plan long-range electrical maintenance programs. Assist Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) section with mechanical and electrical projects. Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Air Force safety standards. Adhere to standby schedule and respond to emergency after hours calls. Perform related work as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent (GED) is required. Experience using Microsoft applications to include Outlook, Excel and Word is required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD) troubleshooting/operations is preferred. Experience with solar power operations is preferred. REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION OR LICENSURE: Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)/State Electrical License is preferred. A valid driver%27s license is required. *The ability to obtain a Texas Driver’s License will be required within the first 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. A satisfactory driving record is required for operating state or personal vehicles to conduct agency business. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Background Investigation. Selected candidate must pass an initial criminal history check and review of foreign adversary connections that might prevent them from being able to maintain the security or integrity and periodic reviews throughout employment.
