    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>Job Summary: Full-time - 10am - 10:30pm - 12 hour shift</u></strong></p><p>The registered nurse is a professional practitioner who delivers patient care through the nursing process.</p><p><strong><u>Functions and Duties:</u></strong></p><ul><li>Collaborates with the patient, family and healthcare team to promote positive patient outcomes</li><li>Assess and reassess patient clinical condition, which includes objective and subjective assessment data.</li><li>Develop, implement and evaluate a patient&rsquo;s Plan of Care.</li><li>Utilize critical thinking skills for patient care and daily operations.&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrates clinical competencies and skills applicable to unit.</li><li>Coordinates, initiates, and validates teaching based on identified learning needs of the patient and designated support person.</li><li>Manages, administers and reconciles medications.&nbsp;</li><li>Documents patient care, interventions and responses in the electronic health record (EHR) timely and accurately.</li><li>Delegates appropriately according to skill level.</li><li>Triage according to the ESI triage algorithm.</li><li>Manage sexual assault victims care, paperwork and evidence.</li><li>Medication management including Omnicell and refrigerator monitoring.</li><li>Facilitate patient flow.</li><li>Prioritize and delegate tasks related to patient care.</li><li>Clear communication with First Responders in the Community (EMS).</li><li>Knowledge of role in codes including but not limited to:<ol><li>Inside Response Team</li><li>Outside Response Team</li><li>Code Blue in ED</li><li>Code Blue in house</li><li>Code Blue on grounds</li><li>Express Team</li><li>Code Green including the function of the Decon Room</li><li>Other hospital codes</li></ol></li><li>Clear and sensitive communication with patients and families who are dealing with various stages of trauma and tragedy.</li><li>Management of an expired patient including but not limited to:<ol><li>Coroner notification</li><li>M transplant notification</li><li>Funeral home notification</li><li>Morgue placement</li><li>Patient belongings</li><li>Family physician notification</li><li>Police if required</li></ol></li><li>Safe management of Behavioral Health patients in acute crisis.</li><li>Transfer management per EMTALA guidelines.</li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Minimum Qualifications:</u></strong></p><p><u>Education</u></p><ul><li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.</li></ul><p><u>Experience</u></p><ul><li>Greater than one (1) year of working experience in a similar unit with comparable patient acuity is preferred.</li></ul><p><u>Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations</u></p><ul><li>BLS certified required.</li><li>Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire</li><li>Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent within 1 year of hire&nbsp;</li><li>De-Escalation training within 6 months of employment.</li><li>Current Illinois RN State licensure required.</li></ul><p><u>Skills and Abilities</u></p><ul><li>None.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Physical Demands:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Sit or stand for a prolonged period of time</li><li>Regularly exposed to body fluids with the risk of bloodborne pathogens or airborne pathogens</li><li>Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (mask, gown, gloves) when required.</li></ul><p><u>Lifting/transferring</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Able to lift 25 pounds from floor to waist using proper body mechanics</li><li>Able to transfer or position clients greater than 50 pounds <u>with assistance or assistive devices</u></li><li>Requesting assistance is expected&nbsp;</li></ul><p><u>Pushing/pulling</u></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Required in positioning and moving clients and medical equipment.
