This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a highly collaborative team providing high-quality, patient-centered care across the full scope of midwifery services.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p>\n<p>As a <strong>Lead Certified Nurse Midwife</strong>, you will serve as a clinical leader within our Women’s Health team, providing comprehensive midwifery care across the continuum, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic services. In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will play a key role in guiding team practices, supporting professional development, and advancing high-quality, patient-centered care. This role offers a dynamic blend of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with opportunities to contribute to program development, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives. Point-of-care ultrasound is an integral part of this role.</p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery management, postpartum care, and routine gynecologic services</li>\n <li>Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to CNMs and other clinical staff, supporting skill development and best practices</li>\n <li>Support team operations, including scheduling coordination, workflow optimization, and clinical coverage planning</li>\n <li>Partner with leadership to drive program development, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of evidence-based care models</li>\n <li>Perform and interpret point-of-care obstetric and gynecologic ultrasounds (e.g., dating, viability, fetal position, basic assessments)</li>\n <li>Conduct patient evaluations, follow-ups, and hospital-based care in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and care teams</li>\n <li>Support labor and delivery, including triage, admissions, and management of low- to moderate-risk pregnancies</li>\n <li>Perform routine procedures within CNM scope (e.g., well-woman exams, contraception management, screenings)</li>\n <li>Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including obstetricians, nurses, lactation consultants, and pediatric providers</li>\n <li>Provide patient education on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and reproductive health</li>\n <li>Contribute to onboarding and orientation of new midwifery staff</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of an accredited Nurse Midwifery program</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Required Experience & Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>5-7 years of experience practicing as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Ideally 2 years of experience as a Lead CNM</strong></li>\n <li><strong>Demonstrated competency in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound</strong></li>\n <li>Experience performing and interpreting point-of-care ultrasound in a clinical setting</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licensure & Certifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Current California Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) license</li>\n   <li>Furnishing Number</li>\n   <li>DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (CSRC)</li>\n   <li>Current BLS certification</li>\n   <li>Current ACLS certification</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Join Us and Enjoy</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Work within a collaborative, team-based care model with experienced OB/GYN physicians and advanced practice providers</li>\n <li>Be part of a supportive and patient-centered environment focused on evidence-based, compassionate care</li>\n <li>Practice in a vibrant San Francisco community with access to diverse patient populations</li>\n <li>Enjoy a culture that promotes professional growth, autonomy, and teamwork</li>\n <li>Receive competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package</li>\n <li>Access continuing education and professional development opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Organization Details</h2>\n<p>Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is a premier multi-specialty medical group made up of over 400 physicians practicing in the greater San Francisco service area.
