As the company continues to grow under new leadership, we are focused on strengthening our brand presence, customer engagement, and community connection through consistent storytelling and marketing efforts.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Position Overview:</span></p>\n<p>The<span> </span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Deckhand</span><span> </span>is responsible for assisting in the safe operation, maintenance, and upkeep of the tugboat and its equipment. The role requires physical endurance, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols while performing various deck operations, including line handling, cargo operations, and vessel maintenance. <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">This is a non-liveaboard position, meaning crew members are not required to sleep onboard. Applicants must be able to relocate to the area or commute reliably to the vessel’s location.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Line Handling &amp; Mooring Operations</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handle mooring and tow lines during docking, undocking, and towing operations.</li>\n<li>Secure vessels in accordance with safety protocols.</li>\n<li>Assist in making up and breaking tows.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vessel Maintenance &amp; Housekeeping</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the deck, hull, and superstructure.</li>\n<li>Conduct painting, rust removal, and lubrication of equipment.</li>\n<li>Assist with general repairs as directed by the captain or Mechanic.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Safety &amp; Compliance</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow all maritime safety regulations and company policies.</li>\n<li>Participate in safety drills, emergency procedures, and training exercises.</li>\n<li>Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Cargo Handling &amp; Support</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with loading and unloading parts, supplies, tugs materials as required.</li>\n<li>Operate deck and engine machinery under supervision.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Watchkeeping &amp; Navigation Support</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stand watch as assigned and report any irregularities.</li>\n<li>Assist with monitoring navigational signals, buoys, and other vessels.</li>\n<li>Inspect and be ready for changing mooring line during the towing.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Communication &amp; Teamwork:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with the captain, mechanic, company supervisor, contractor and other crew members to ensure smooth operations.</li>\n<li>Report any issues or hazards promptly to the senior crew.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications &amp; Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous maritime or deckhand experience preferred but not required.</li>\n<li>Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.</li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of vessel operations and maintenance.</li>\n<li>Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends.</li>\n<li>Strong teamwork and communication skills.</li>\n<li>Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or possibility to obtain.</li>\n<li>Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with necessary endorsements (preferred).</li>\n<li>Basic Safety training: First Aid, Fire Prevention and Firefighting, Survival at Sea, CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred).<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work Conditions:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.</li>\n<li>Extended periods away from home depending on shift schedules.</li>\n<li>Potential exposure to hazardous conditions, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Career Growth:</span></p>\n<p>This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience in the maritime industry, with potential career advancement to higher deck positions such as Mate or Captain.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Employee Job Description Acknowledgement:</span></span></p>\n<p>I acknowledge that I have received and reviewed the job description for my position as<span> </span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Deckhand</span></span><span> </span>with Antillean Marine Shipping Corp.
