The QA Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and the testing of bus duct, low and medium voltage motor control, and low and medium voltage switchgear and PCR/E-Houses.&nbsp;The QA Inspector will also perform these tests for Powell Customers and/or their representatives during witnessed customer inspections.</p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor in shop electrical operation and conduct visual inspections.&nbsp;</li><li>Inspect, test all equipment manufactured at Powell facilities according to Powell Standards.</li><li>Perform Skid Inspection for any Structural, Dimension, Visual Welding &amp; Paint defects as per customer requirements.</li><li>Install, program and operate electronic equipment such as relays, OBR, PLCs, HMIs etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Power up all Powell Electrical Product and other buyout equipment’s with safety procedures and pre-commissioning check. Such as Transformers, Service Panels, HVAC, Battery Chargers, UPS System, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform equipment failure investigations and root cause analysis.</li><li>Responsible for performing all aspects of inspection activities with minimum supervision.</li><li>Ensure that quality document latest revisions are available to and are being utilized while performing the work.</li><li>Complete and maintain all test Quality Control documentation as required.</li><li>Perform maintenance and calibration on test equipment as needed.</li><li>Identifies and issue of non-conformance report to Manufacturing Manager to known standard using various measuring and testing methods and assist the appropriate functional area to find the appropriate disposition to non-conformance, ensuring that the appropriate corrective action to prevent recurrence.</li><li>Interaction with all departments (shop, engineering, sales, shipping, fabrication, PCR, switchgear) including customers to work to resolve quality related issues.</li><li>Interaction with all departments during production, final inspection and final release to shipping is required.</li><li>External relationships may include regular interaction with other Powell subsidiaries and or customers.</li><li>Coordinate with customers and QC inspectors for the resolution of shop problem as well as Factory Acceptance Test.</li><li>Record Engineering and Shop discrepancies and shortage.</li><li>Fully participates in continuous process improvement and cost control, following quality policies and procedure and standards to maintain with company guidelines.</li><li>Organize and implement quality control systems and processes and provide feedback to the Manufacturing Manager.</li><li>Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.</li><li>Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.</li><li>Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.</li><li>Other duties as required</li></ul><p><strong>Core Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>&nbsp;Ability to apply industry standards as applicable to job and product.&nbsp;</li><li>Actively seeks out self-development through internal or external programs that contributes to knowledge, skill and abilities.</li><li>Demonstrates integrity and ethical decision making.</li><li>Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.</li><li>Able to work effectively within a team and around other departments and their activities.</li><li>Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.</li><li>Must have an exceptional command of the English language, both written and verbal.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Diploma in Electrical Engineering, BS Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (Journeyman Electrician Trade Ticket is an asset).</li><li>Minimum 0-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Familiar with used of test equipment such as multi meter, clamp-on-meter, voltage detector, Hi-Pot, etc.</li><li>Basic level computer skills MS Office products.</li><li>Intermediate experience working with industry codes and standards and able to refer to applicable codes.</li><li>Basic Knowledge of Electrical Theory and relevant Mechanical experience.</li><li>Ability to read prints including: specification sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, three-line drawings, wiring lists and part drawings.</li><li>Knowledge of policies, how to write them and how to administer them consistently.</li><li>Safety training certificates are an asset for the position.</li><li>Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment substance abuse and medical testing upon hire.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span data-teams=\"true\"><strong>Work Authorization: </strong>This is a permanent position.
