This is a safety-critical role responsible for implementing and maintaining safe systems of work during fencing operations carried out in live rail environments, including traffic hours, engineering hours, and depot works.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>In addition to protection duties, the role requires hands-on capability in vegetation clearance and chainsaw operations to support fencing installation activities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Location: Hillingdon</li>\n<li>Employment Type: Full time, Permanent</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What we offer:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>From £170 a day dependent on experience</li>\n<li>Weekly pay<br></li>\n<li>Life Assurance scheme </li>\n<li>Auto enrolment pension scheme.  </li>\n<li>Friendly working environment as part of a growing successful Group. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage protection arrangements for fencing works during traffic hours, engineering hours, and depot operations.</li>\n<li>Act as Site Person in Charge (SPC) when appointed.</li>\n<li>Ensure fencing works are delivered safely within protection limits.</li>\n<li>Deliver daily briefings and ensure operatives follow safe systems of work.</li>\n<li>Coordinate fencing activities, including plant, materials, and team deployment.</li>\n<li>Carry out vegetation clearance and chainsaw operations to support fencing installation.</li>\n<li>Ensure safe use and upkeep of tools and equipment.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with rail standards.</li>\n<li>Liaise with control, engineering supervisors, and client representatives.</li>\n<li>Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions arise.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Experience and Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sentinel (valid sponsorship required)</li>\n<li>PWT – TH (Protection Work – Traffic Hours)</li>\n<li>PWT – EH (Protection Work – Engineering Hours)</li>\n<li>PWT – D (Protection Work – Depots)</li>\n<li>SPC – Site Person in Charge</li>\n<li>Basic Track Awareness</li>\n<li>Hedge Trimmer (including long-arm hedge trimmer)</li>\n<li>Brushcutter / Strimmer</li>\n<li>Chainsaw Pole Pruner</li>\n<li>NPTC – Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-Cutting</li>\n<li>NPTC – Felling Small Trees up to 380mm</li>\n<li>Safe Use of Power Tools</li>\n<li>Proven experience working within live rail environments</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of rail safety standards and fencing-related risks</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and leadership skills</li>\n<li>Full UK driving licence</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p> </p>",
