Job Description
Essential Duties:
Preschool Lead Teachers are responsible for direct interaction with the children in games, activities and free play, along with ensuring the general health, welfare and well-being of each child as well as some lesson planning.
Lead teachers need to be active participants with the children enrolled; and effective communicators with parents, children, supervisors and co-workers.
Hourly Rate: $16.50 per hour
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No
This position is also responsible for the supervision and leadership of employees, which includes making employment-related decisions and/or recommendations, and formally evaluating performance.
Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
Job Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
Minimum age is 18 years and older
Early childhood education courses preferred or a Child Development Certificate
Professional Experience:
6 months experience in licensed preschool setting is required
Required Skills:
Patient, good with children, good communication skills and flexible. Works well with others.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or other relevant degree preferred
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Yes Experience may be substituted for degree.
Yes Education may be substituted for experience.
JCPRD requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department.
