    "description": "<p>TDX Manley Generating is recruiting for a Power Plant Operator. This is a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">temporary position, scheduled to last 2 to 4 weeks</span>, located in Manley Hot Springs, AK. This position reports to the Utility Operations Manager.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB SUMMARY</span><br></p>\n<p>Work independently and with a team to maintain facilities and grounds. Incumbent will work in the diesel power plant to help maintain the facilities and the diesel generators. Part of the job includes reading meters, basic cleaning and maintenance on the premises surrounding the power plant and Solar PV Farm. This requires attention to safety regulations for the industry and is important for overall safety on the job. Perform assembly, commissioning, testing, repair and maintenance on diesel generators, solar arrays, battery storage, facilities and related equipment at site.<br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct and review safety analyses of potential electrical and mechanical hazards in the power plant and switch room<br></li>\n<li>Support Root Cause Analyses to assist in determining equipment failure and the reasons for failures when they occur<br></li>\n<li>Complete required and accurate documentation associated with corrective and preventive maintenance of solar arrays and associated equipment; maintain records of documentation<br></li>\n<li>Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and/or retrofit low to medium voltage electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components and equipment associated with diesel generators<br></li>\n<li>Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures<br></li>\n<li>Perform preventative maintenance activities safely and efficiently on solar PV arrays and associated equipment located on the solar PV farm<br></li>\n<li>Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources to ensure work is performed in a safe manner<br></li>\n<li>Conduct safety analysis and review of hazards and energy sources before and while performing any work assignment on the Solar PV farm<br></li>\n<li>Properly maintain tools and equipment used to perform assigned maintenance assignments<br></li>\n<li>Maintain required training certifications and qualifications to enable personnel to safely perform work-related tasks in a quality manner<br></li>\n<li>Perform monthly meter reads<br></li>\n<li>Other responsibilities as assigned<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">JOB QUALIFICATIONS:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.<br></li>\n<li>A certificate or two-year degree program in applied sciences is preferred.<br></li>\n<li>One year of generation mechanic, Solar PV and battery storage experience, strong preferred or very good mechanical skills.<br></li>\n<li>Ability to travel for work and/or training for extended periods of time.<br></li>\n<li>Ability to work extended work schedules, often in unpleasant weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.<br></li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work in locations above the ground.<br></li>\n<li>A valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence and in good standing.<br></li>\n<li>Required to pass a background investigation.<br></li>\n<li>Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and meet all physical requirements for the position.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">COMPETENCIES:</span><br></p>\n<p>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.<br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong technical skills.<br></li>\n<li>Must demonstrate a customer service attitude<br></li>\n<li>Comfort with heights.<br></li>\n<li>High degree of precision, care, and attention to surroundings when in working environments with minimum tolerances.<br></li>\n<li>High level of integrity, strong work ethic, good judgment, fast thinking, attention to safety, and problem-solving skills.<br></li>\n<li>Professional, leading by example and willing to put the company and others before themselves.<br></li>\n<li>Recognizes need for confidentiality and security of sensitive information.<br></li>\n<li>Superior interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.<br></li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills, initiative, and a commitment to quality.<br></li>\n<li>Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.<br></li>\n<li>Compliance data must be accurate and reliable.<br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">NOTES:</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
