We develop complex, radiation effects mitigated, designs that balance competing requirements in modern space programs, delivering cutting-edge solutions that enable our customers to achieve more in space.</p><p><br><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>Trident Solutions is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations and policy across multiple business units, systems and locations. &nbsp;</p><p>This newly created position will focus on driving consistency, accuracy, and compliance throughout the company&rsquo;s accounting framework. The Controller will set standards, implement controls, and ensure alignment with U.S. GAAP, FAR, CAS, and audit requirements.&nbsp;</p><p>The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a hands-on leadership style. They excel at building structure in complex organizations, promoting standardization, and integrating new acquisitions into a unified accounting environment.</p><p>This position is on-site in Fairfax, VA. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Leadership &amp; Standardization:</p><ul><li>Lead and coordinate accounting activities across all business units to ensure consistent policies, procedures, and internal controls.</li><li>Develop, document, and enforce company-wide accounting standards in compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS</li><li>Responsible for managing annual financial statement audit and tax return in conjunction with 3<em>rd</em> party accounting firm. &nbsp;Key duties include ensuring execution, communicating with audit firm, managing outstanding items and adhering to the audit/tax timelines.</li><li>Partner with business-units to maintain uniform practices for close, reporting, and compliance.</li><li>Drive initiatives that improve process efficiency, automation, and data integrity across entities and systems.</li><li>Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the accounting organization.</li></ul><p>Compliance, Controls &amp; Reporting:</p><ul><li>Maintain oversight of corporate internal controls and ensure readiness for external and government audits, including DCAA.</li><li>Oversee preparation and support of indirect cost rate calculations, incurred cost submissions, and related FAR/CAS documentation.</li><li>Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory and contractual obligations.</li><li>Partner with the CFO to assess accounting risks and strengthen compliance frameworks.</li></ul><p>Technical Accounting &amp; Integration:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Provide technical accounting guidance for complex or judgmental areas including ASC 606 revenue recognition, cost allocation, capitalization, and project-based accounting.</li><li>Lead accounting aspects of acquisition integration, aligning systems, controls, and reporting structures.</li><li>Review and consolidate results across business units, ensuring alignment and integrity of company-wide financial data.</li><li>Collaborate with FP&amp;A and operations to connect accounting data with performance metrics and management reporting.</li></ul><p>Systems &amp; Process Improvement:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Champion effective use of ERP and reporting tools; ensure consistent configuration and data standards across locations.</li><li>Identify automation opportunities and workflow improvements to shorten close cycles and enhance reporting transparency.</li><li>Maintain awareness of evolving GAAP, FAR, and CAS requirements and communicate updates to accounting leadership.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or related field</li><li>15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree OR 13+ years with a Master&rsquo;s degree</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a controllership or senior accounting leadership role</li><li>Demonstrated experience implementing company-wide accounting standards or harmonizing practices across multiple entities</li><li>Experience in project-based or manufacturing accounting environments&nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Business Central (Dynamics) or comparable ERP systems&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to travel up to 10% of the time</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA)&nbsp;</li><li>Strong knowledge of FAR Part 31, CAS, and indirect rate development</li><li>M&amp;A integration experience</li><li>Background in both public and private accounting&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including but not limited to:</p><ul><li>Health benefits</li><li>Medical&nbsp;</li><li>Dental&nbsp;</li><li>Vision</li><li>Basic life with AD&amp;D</li><li>Short term disability</li><li>Long term disability</li><li>Ancillary (Voluntary life with AD&amp;D, accident, critical illness, hospital, and pet)</li><li>Spending accounts (HSA, FSA, and DCFSA)</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Holidays</li><li>401(k) (including company match)</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Leaves (Parental, maternity, and military)</li><li>Annual discretionary bonus (for eligible roles)<br><br></li></ul><p><em>Trident Systems is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
