The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for training and developing employees, assigning work to others, and acting as a resource to the employees. Additionally, this role involves managing relationships with service providers and partners throughout the globe, being the liaison for vendors to manage shipment bookings, ensuring timely transfers from logistics providers’ warehouses and onward to final destinations, as appropriate. This role will also assist as needed to complete the work of the department in addition to daily shipment processing.  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for the Operations and Service level of the logistics operations by providing cost effective, efficient and traceable movement of AIT's products both in-bound and out-bound</li>\n <li>Supervise all staff directly or through supervision through team coaching on performance, job assignments, coaching, training, etc</li>\n <li>Arrange product pickups and deliveries with transportation companies and route drivers accordingly</li>\n <li>Actively communicate and build strong partnerships with trucking companies, internal/external customers, customs brokers, sales forces and vendors. Including but not limited to: receiving shipping quotes and deciding on the best carriers based on cost, availability and reliability</li>\n <li>Tend to customer needs by analyzing and researching orders. Ensure that lowest cost transportation is used to satisfy both customer and AIT's needs.</li>\n <li>Supervise daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries, track progress of shipments and manager cartage set up of operations over the weekend</li>\n <li>Ability to administer and supervise; exercise judgement in appraising situation and making decisions to staff management</li>\n <li>Ability to tailor communication (both written and verbal) according to appropriate audience</li>\n <li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors</li>\n <li>Demonstrate leadership through work ethic and high performance</li>\n <li>Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>3-5 years experience in freight forwarding or transportation Required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>AS400 (Medium proficiency)</li>\n <li>Cargowise (Medium proficiency)</li>\n <li>McLeod (Medium proficiency)</li>\n <li>Microsoft Office Suite (Medium proficiency)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Other Skills We Hope to See:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A team player who works well with others – being respectful to our teammates is a Core Value!</li>\n <li>A strong work ethic with an appreciation for ownership, independence, accountability and autonomy in your role.</li>\n <li>Growth mindset – being passionate about your craft, always looking for ways to improve yourself and the company, being open to change and doing things differently.</li>\n <li>Customer service focus – we serve a wide variety of customers, both internal and external, and building relationships is a part of our culture!</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What AIT Can Offer You</h2>\n<p>In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (dependent on position).
