Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You Will Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Take medical histories and verify information</li>\n <li>Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy</li>\n <li>Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements</li>\n <li>Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues</li>\n <li>Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam</li>\n <li>Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications</li>\n <li>Explain how to properly use contact lenses</li>\n <li>Assist with inventory management</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>What You Will Bring: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED certificate</li>\n <li>Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.</li>\n <li>Experience with EMR tools</li>\n <li>Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)</li>\n <li>Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What we offer:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive compensation package</li>\n <li>Excellent comprehensive benefits</li>\n <li>401(K)</li>\n <li>Significant eye care discounts</li>\n <li>Continuing education allowances</li>\n <li>Career growth and development</li>\n <li>PTO and holidays off</li>\n</ul>\n<p>We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.  </p>",
