Description

We want you to be a part of our team!  Maimonides School, a Preschool – Grade 12 coeducational Modern Orthodox Jewish day school in Brookline, MA, is hiring a Social Worker to work with our elementary students (grades K-6). There is an option to begin immediately, including part time for the rest of this school year, as you transition to full time work starting in August, 2026. WHAT YOU WILL DO You will help students function effectively in an elementary school environment. Through interaction and assessment, you will provide parents, faculty, and administrators with insight into areas that might need counseling. You will also provide support, and referrals as needed, with issues that affect individual students, groups and/or the entire community. Specifically, you will: Address concerns and provide counseling related to the psychological, emotional, and the social well-being of students Provide direct therapeutic services such as individual, family or group therapy for specific issues  Work with students to develop social skills, coping strategies and positive solutions  Maintain case files and reports that track student problems and progress, including recognized behavior patterns Participate in assessment meetings to determine whether a student has a learning disability or requires placement in special education classes Educate to students and faculty on a variety of psychological and social topics including bullying, self-esteem, depression, anxiety and stress management Advocate for student services that support the student’s best interests  QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work or a related field (MSW or LICSW required) 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in an elementary school setting Experience in developing, coordinating and executing mental health assessments, interventions, and behavioral plans for students SALARY AND BENEFITS Salary is $70,000-$80,000/year, commensurate with years of experience Health, dental and vision insurance Paid time off for state, federal, and Jewish holidays 403b plan with employer match Early release Fridays ABOUT MAIMONIDES SCHOOL Maimonides offers an unparalleled dual curriculum in Judaic and general studies.
