    "descriptionText": "Salary: USD 180,000–200,000\n\n Description\n\nWe are looking for an addition to our Product Development team to be responsible for the following areas:\n\n Compliance, Certification & Documentation ( 40%)\n\n• Lead battery certification and compliance programs (UN38.3, UL1642, IEC 62133, BIS, and others), including coordination with external testing laboratories and certification bodies.\n\n• Own the creation, maintenance, and release of all customer facing technical documentation for the cell product portfolio, including data sheets, product specifications, and safety documentation.\n\n• Maintain the electronic product catalog and product databases, ensuring all published specifications and documentation are current and aligned with certified configurations.\n\n• Track and manage certification timelines, test lab submissions, and regulatory requirements across the full cell portfolio to ensure uninterrupted product availability.\n\n Testing & Integration Engineering ( 40%)\n\n• Support and guide cell level testing activities, providing an integration perspective to ensure test plans, results, and data interpretation align with product requirements and customer application needs.\n\n• Collaborate cross functionally with R&D, Test Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to align product specifications with manufacturing capabilities and test results.\n\n• Evaluate cell performance data and translate findings into specification updates, integration guidance, and technical recommendations.\n\n• Participate in and present at regular project status reviews, providing updates on testing, integration activities, and NPI milestones.\n\n Customer, Supplier & Internal Communication ( 20%)\n\n• Serve as a technical escalation point for Sales, Strategic Accounts, and Business Development teams, providing expert guidance on cell performance, specifications, and test data to external customers.\n\n• Act as a technical liaison with key external partners including testing labs, certification bodies, and contract manufacturers.\n\n• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to internal teams on cell integration, specification standards, certification processes, and customer technical requirements.\n\nQualifications\n\n Requirements\n\n• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\n• 7+ years of experience in battery engineering, battery integration, or product engineering within the lithium ion battery industry.\n\n• Strong knowledge of lithium ion cell testing, characterization, and specification development.\n\n• Direct experience with battery certification standards (UN38.3, UL1642, IEC 62133).\n\n• Experience creating and managing technical documentation (TDS, product specifications, SDS) in a customer deliverable context.\n\n• Proven ability to serve as a customer facing technical resource, translating complex battery data into clear guidance for non technical stakeholders.\n\n• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage 15+ simultaneous work streams across multiple tools and teams.\n\n• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\n Preferred Qualifications \n\n• Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.\n\n• Experience with silicon anode or other advanced lithium ion battery chemistries.\n\n• Hands on experience with battery pack integration or cell to pack assembly operations.\n\n• Experience leading or supervising small production or assembly teams in a manufacturing or lab environment.\n\n• Knowledge of international shipping regulations for lithium ion cells (IATA DGR, 49 CFR).\n\n Leadership Competencies \n\n Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline\n Hands‑on technical leader who can operate at both system and detail levels\n Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills\n Results‑driven, resilient, and comfortable with ambiguity\n\n Physical Demands & Work Location: \n\nFremont, CA: This is an on site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.\n\nWork performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards\n\nMay need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes when entering the lab\n\n Travel Requirements: up to 10%\n\n Benefits\n\n·       Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary + RSUs. Salary range for this role is $185,000 to $200,000.
