With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our Quality Assurance team. As part of this team, you will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of composite materials and parts for a VTOL electric aircraft. The inspection process will help baseline the company’s hardware design efforts and pave the way to production-ready hardware. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are looking to expand this team with like-minded individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.   \n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in the development of the quality inspection system</li>\n <li>Perform incoming inspection on supplied composite material</li>\n <li>Perform in-process inspection during the layup process for composite material</li>\n <li>Perform final inspection on completed composite parts</li>\n <li>Perform final inspection on the completed Work Order paperwork package</li>\n <li>Perform ad hoc part and process inspections</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A high-school diploma or GED </li>\n <li>Knowledge of basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of types of measurement, measurement terminology, and the different types of measurement scales</li>\n <li>Must be familiar with measurements using hand tools such as calipers and micrometers</li>\n <li>Familiar with reading and interpreting blueprints and identifying critical, major, and minor characteristics</li>\n <li>Understand different testing methods</li>\n <li>Understand traceability (product, material, and calibration)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and perform measurement conversions; be able to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a team environment</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of on-the-job aerospace experience</li>\n <li>2+ years' experience in composite inspection or fabrication and mechanical inspection</li>\n <li>General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and understanding of the x, y, z coordinate system</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of statistical terms and techniques, how to plot data, and how to recognize out-of-control conditions</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of plan-do-check-act (PDCA)</li>\n <li>ASQ Certified Quality Inspector Certificate</li>\n</ul> \n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p><strong>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $25-$35 per hour. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
