A strong background in Florida DOT design policies and procedures is preferred. The candidate will work in a fast-paced engineering environment where projects may be derived from a number of delivery methods including conventional publicly bid projects and design build. Over the last two decades, WGI has delivered a variety of transportation projects including some of the largest and most complex interstate projects in the state of Florida. As a firm, we continue to grow and look forward to the opportunity to add engineers who are eager to work on exciting projects and grow professionally, themselves. </p>\n<p>#LI-Onsite </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as the <strong>Engineer of Record</strong> for projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and regulatory requirements. </li>\n <li><strong>Lead and mentor junior engineers</strong>, providing technical guidance, training, and support for professional development. </li>\n <li>Act as a <strong>client-facing representative</strong>, managing relationships and serving as the primary point of contact </li>\n <li>Assist Project Manager in a variety of project administrative duties </li>\n <li>Participate in business development activities, assisting in the creation of letters of response and technical proposals/presentations </li>\n <li>Oversee/produce engineering designs including project research, storm sewer layouts, storm-water management designs, plans preparation and detail designs </li>\n <li>Oversee the creation of engineering documents including permit packages and design documentation reports </li>\n <li>Coordinate plans, calculations and specifications amongst multi-discipline engineering teams </li>\n <li>Perform internal Quality Control to ensure designs, plans and calculations are complete and accurate </li>\n <li>Ability to conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling is a plus. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Florida Professional Engineering Registration</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Proficiency in advanced Microstation/GEOPAK processes</strong> </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>3D modeling a plus </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with ICPR/Stormwise and /or SWMM, ASAD, and HEC-RAS </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong knowledge of FDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with FDOT preferred </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of and ability to coordinate with other transportation disciplines and ability </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong work ethic and ability to organize and manage small to medium sized engineering design teams </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to train and mentor entry level staff </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversight and managing staff </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
