Responsibilities Safely guide students, faculty, and staff through effective, evidence‑based nutrition coaching sessions Provide inclusive, respectful, and high‑quality customer service to all clients, regardless of background, nutritional knowledge, or appearance Prioritize client safety by offering guidance aligned with professional nutrition standards and department policies. Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors through phone, email, or in‑person meetings regarding schedules, client progress, or program needs Uphold and enforce all program policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines related to nutrition coaching and wellness education Support compliance with facility policies and assist appropriately during emergencies or health‑related incidents Attend all required department meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions to remain current on best practices in nutrition and student wellness Develop and deliver effective, engaging, and creative nutrition education opportunities such as one‑on‑one coaching, group sessions, or workshops Ensure a positive and supportive environment for all participants, accommodating diverse levels of nutritional literacy and health goals Participate in ongoing training, certification updates, and program development initiatives as required Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Possess a current, recognized nutrition credential, such as Certified Nutrition Coach, Certified Health Coach, or Registered Dietitian Demonstrate leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide clients toward sustainable, evidence‑based nutrition habits A proactive, student‑centered mindset with enthusiasm for promoting healthy eating, wellness education, and campus‑wide nutrition initiatives Excellent organizational skills and strong written and interpersonal communication abilities Ability to work independently and manage a varied coaching schedule, including one‑on‑one sessions, workshops, and campus events Knowledge of evidence‑based nutrition practices, behavior‑change strategies, and general wellness principles, especially those relevant to college‑aged populations Ability to thrive in a university environment that values high expectations, accountability, inclusivity, and balanced, holistic lifestyles Competencies: Technical Competencies Proficiency with fitness, wellness, nutrition knowledge and coaching techniques Proficient with developing plan for continued growth in clients’ skills Human Relations: Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information, negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.
