Description Market Range: 18 Hiring Salary: $8,964.74 - $12,550.63/Monthly JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Office of Compliance resides within Human Resources and is under the leadership and responsibility of the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). The Director of Compliance and Title IX Coordinator reports to the AVC and CHRO with a dotted reporting line to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer. The Director leads the Office of Compliance and provides strategic leadership and oversight for the UT Health Science Center's compliance with federal and state civil rights laws and University policies prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and related conduct. The Director manages the department's budget, ensuring that human and financial resources are properly administered for maximal outcomes. The Office of Compliance is responsible for overseeing and implementing UT Health Science Center's mission of maintaining compliance with Title IX, Title VII, Title VI, ADA, Section 504, and other civil rights-related regulations and policies. As a result, the Director ensures a coordinated, fair, and legally compliant institutional response to reports and complaints handled by the Office of Compliance. The scope of the role includes all UT Health Science Center campuses. Responsibilities Directs and manages the daily operations of the Office of Compliance, which ensures a coordinated, fair, and legally compliant institutional response to reports and complaints. Conducts and supervises investigation of complaints alleging discrimination/harassment and gender-based violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking, including matters involving students, trainees, employees, and others. Collaborates and engages with the leadership and colleagues including HR and Legal to conduct and supervise investigations. Amongst other things, ensures the results of investigations reflect objectivity and impartiality, accuracy and clarity, completeness and context, and transparency of the process. Educates and trains the UT Health Sciences Center community in addition to identifying high risk areas, investigating reports of non-compliance, barrier removal, complaints alleging disability-related harassment or discrimination, and fashioning reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities who disclose a limitation or engage the interactive process. Provides educational programs, training, develops campus procedures, monitors compliance, and reporting. Ensures compliance with state and federal anti-discrimination laws applicable to individuals with a disability and Section 504 that includes employees, trainees, students, patients, and visitors. Manages Title VI policies, procedures, programs/training, and addresses reports and complaints alleging conduct inconsistent with university policy and laws (i.e., state and federal). Serves on various committees, attends leadership meetings (local and system level), and works on strategic initiatives, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: Eight (8) years of relevant experience or experience collaborating with college and unit-level leaders, shared governance and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies; OR Master’s Degree and six (6) of relevant experience or experience collaborating with college and unit-level leaders, shared governance and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to maintain confidentiality, employ excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution strategies, use responsible independent judgment, and work collaboratively with different constituencies and the university community. Ability to respond professionally and perform effectively in high-pressure situations. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated success in professional relationship building and collaboration. Knowledge of the various laws, regulations, and policies related to equity, diversity, discrimination, retaliation, and equal opportunity in higher education (including Title VI, Title VII, ADEA, etc.). Skill in Microsoft Office and navigation techniques. Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve problems using independent judgment and decision-making processes. Ability to provide strong leadership, excellent interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to utilize predictive analytics to proactively manage institutional risk by identifying patterns of misconduct, monitoring compliance trends, and improving case management efficiency WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends. May occasionally require overnight travel.
