    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, performs various housekeeping duties in an assigned area of the Hospital to ensure a clean, fresh, safe, and esthetically pleasing environment. Performs listed duties daily - following a duty list for an assigned area. Attends meetings and uses a checklist to ensure all areas are completed at the end of the shift.\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<strong>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)</strong>  \n<li>As schedule allows, Housekeeping cleans the rooms/areas in which patient equipment is stored, i.e., IV Poles, Blood Pressure Pumps and Temperature Pumps.</li> \n<li>Responsible for removing regular and infectious waste as needed.</li> \n<li>Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the compactor area.</li> \n<li>Relocate carefully and completely furniture, equipment and boxes instructed to designated locations.</li> \n<li>Assist floor finishers as directed by Supervisor.</li> \n<li>Reports any security issues to Supervisor promptly 100% of the time.</li> \n<li>Required communicating all concerns to Supervisor promptly.</li> \n<li>Reports any assigned work not completed to Supervisor at end of shift.</li> \n<li>Reports safety hazards to Supervisor daily and uses checkout forms to record all discharge rooms cleaned daily.</li> \n<li>Return all carts, equipment, key pagers and unused supplies to Storeroom in clean condition at end of shifts.</li> \n<li>Follows work rules 100% of the time.</li> \n<li>Uses chemicals and supplies as trained and accordingly to manufacturer's recommendations 100% of the time.</li> \n<li>Strip and makes patient room beds for dismissal cleaning daily.</li> \n<li>Dry and wet mop all floors daily with approved cleaning agent.</li> \n<li>Polishes all stainless steel weekly and on an as needed basis.</li> \n<li>Performs clean up of spills wherever assigned and/or observed.</li> \n<li>Replaces in room needle containers when necessary.</li> \n<li>Uses Bed-Tracking system property 100% of the time.</li> \n<li>Uses step cleaning method consistently.</li> \n<li>Dusts all horizontal and vertical surfaces daily with an approved cleaning agent.</li> \n<li>Spot cleans walls as necessary.</li> \n<li>Damp wipe all patient room furniture daily using approved cleaning agent.</li> \n<li>Cleans all porcelain and metal fixtures in restrooms daily with an approved cleaning agent.</li> \n<li>Cleans shower rooms and stalls daily.</li> \n<li>Replenish all paper and soap supplies in dispensers daily.</li> \n<li>Clean all mirrors and windows daily with approved cleaning agent.</li> \n<li>Performs duties daily following a checklist for an assigned area using proper chemicals, equipment and technique.</li> \n<li>Checks cart before leaving Central Storeroom to make sure that cart has necessary equipment and supplies.</li> \n<li>Vacuum all carpeting daily where applicable.</li> \n<li>Performs buffing duties as assigned per duty list.</li> \n<li>Completes and turns in all checklists are used 100% of the time.</li> \n<li>Meets written standards of cleanliness 100% of the time.</li> \n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Minimum Requirements)</strong><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to work independently with little supervision.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work as part of a group.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Preferred</li>\n <li>GED Equivalent must be secured within one year of employment</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EXPERIENCE</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>1 year Environmental Services Preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR</strong>Meets the Standards of Behavior as outlined in Personnel Policy and Procedure #1, Employee Relations Code.<strong>CONFIDENTIALITY/HIPAA/CORPORATE COMPLIANCE</strong>Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information.
