Deck Supervisors deliver excellent service to all members, guests and program participants. &nbsp;The primary responsibility is to provide overall supervision of the pool area.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: &nbsp;</strong></p><p>1. Builds relationships with members, program participants, volunteers, and staff to gain and retain members.&nbsp;</p><p>2. Relates to the public in a positive manner, addressing member concerns and interacting with participants as well as informing supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.&nbsp;</p><p>3. Maintains active surveillance of the pool area. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>4. Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.&nbsp;</p><p>5. Enforces all pool rules and regulations promptly and professionally; notifies the appropriate staff member of any inappropriate behavior.&nbsp;</p><p>6. May be responsible for opening/closing the facility, as well as supervising staff and/or monitoring procedures and policies during the assigned shift.&nbsp;</p><p>7. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies, guidelines and program standards for the pool and aquatics area.&nbsp;</p><p>8. Assists with the general maintenance and upkeep of the aquatics facility.&nbsp;</p><p>9. Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action.&nbsp;</p><p>10. Actively participates in department and branch staff meetings and/or related trainings. &nbsp;</p><p>11. Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards&nbsp;</p><p>4. Ability to work independently with attention to detail required&nbsp;</p><p>5. Complete before first shift: YMCA cause &amp; culture training; Aquatics-specific training; all required abuse prevention training.</p><p>6. Demonstrated leadership, dependability &amp; flexibility in work hours&nbsp;</p><p>7. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check.</p><p id=\"isPasted\">8. Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.&nbsp;</p><p>9.
