Our robust academic enterprise shapes the experts who will help redefine medicine for the next generation.</p>\n<p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY:</strong></p>\n<p>The Director of&nbsp;Obstetric Anesthesiology within Beverly Anesthesiology, Inc, reports to the Vice Chair and Co-Chairs of the Department of Anesthesiology. In addition to providing clinical anesthesia services, the Director provides day-to-day administrative, clinical, and operational duties for the&nbsp;Obstetric Anesthesiology section. The role focuses on aligning section activities with departmental and institutional goals, ensuring high-quality and safe care, advancing labor &amp; delivery and operating room (OR) efficiency, and coordinating care across services.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>Under the leadership of the Vice Chair and Co-Chairs&nbsp;of Anesthesiology, the Director will:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead routine administrative and clinical functions for the Obstetric Anesthesia section, including oversight of clinical services, quality and safety, patient experience, personnel, scheduling, and productivity.</li>\n <li>Establish annual section goals aligned with departmental and institutional priorities; track progress, and report outcomes.</li>\n <li>Oversee provider coverage, daily scheduling, and assignments to ensure timely responsiveness, continuity of care, and equitable workload distribution.</li>\n <li>Recommend appropriate staffing levels and competencies based on volumes, acuity, and case mix; support recruitment and retention efforts.</li>\n <li>Serve as the point of contact for operational escalations and collaborate with OB and nursing leadership to resolve real-time issues.</li>\n <li>Partner with interdisciplinary leadership to develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures guiding safe, high-quality anesthesia care across peripartum; communicate updates to anesthesia providers.</li>\n <li>Standardize workflows, documentation, and equipment use where appropriate to reduce variation and enhance reliability.</li>\n <li>Monitor quality and safety indicators; lead or participate in performance improvement initiatives with multidisciplinary teams.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Review safety event reports and patient grievances; work with Patient Relations and participate in root cause analyses (RCAs) for issues.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission), including licensure, credentialing, documentation, and quality assurance requirements.</li>\n <li>Provide ongoing monitoring and feedback on professional performance for providers within the section; participate in FPPE/OPPE processes in collaboration with departmental leadership.</li>\n <li>Recommend clinical privileges for section providers in partnership with departmental leadership and Medical Staff Services.</li>\n <li>Support onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluations of anesthesia providers; contribute to succession planning for key roles.</li>\n <li>Represent section interests in departmental and institutional meetings; present metrics and outcomes and drive transparency and accountability.</li>\n <li>Provide Anesthesia Clinical Services.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>Teaching</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates&nbsp;in teaching of house staff,&nbsp;fellows&nbsp;and students.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participates in evaluation of the performance of fellows, residents, and students.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participates in departmental and institutional committees in training,&nbsp;research&nbsp;and clinical process activities.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participates in research activities.&nbsp;<br>\n  Highlights:</li>\n <li>Competitive Salary with excellent healthcare and retirement benefits</li>\n <li>Dynamic team with excellent camaraderie that supports the clinical and academic mission of internationally recognized programs</li>\n <li>Student loan assistance or housing loan assistance for qualified candidates</li>\n <li>Diverse case mix</li>\n <li>Eligible for academic appointments in the Cedar-Sinai Health System Professorial Program</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, located at the junction of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
