We are committed to ending the suffering of animals throughout Asia by promoting compassion and respect for all animals, while striving to create long-term and sustainable change.</p>\n<p>Animals Asia is currently seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for the position of Manager- Local Communications with details as follows:</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position: Manager- Local Communications</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Employment type:</span> Full-time<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Contract duration:</span> One-year contract, extendable based on performance with initial 2-month probationary period<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work location:</span> Hà Nội, Việt Nam (with occasional travel to programme locations)</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Role Purpose</span></p>\n<p>The Manager, Local Communications is responsible for delivering Vietnam-facing communications through strategic messaging, Vietnamese-language content, and media engagement, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and Vietnam’s political and regulatory context. This is an editorial and content-led role focused on accuracy, consistency, and reputational risk management. The role does not cover advocacy, fundraising, CSR, or outreach delivery, but ensures that all Vietnam-facing communications are strategically aligned, culturally appropriate, and politically safe.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Communications Plan &amp; Advisory</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor Vietnam media landscape to identify risks and opportunities</li>\n<li>Develop and implement local communications and content plans</li>\n<li>Advise the Country Director on messaging and reputational risks</li>\n<li>Coordinate with Global Communications to ensure alignment and effective delivery</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Media Relations (Vietnam)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as main contact for Vietnamese media enquiries</li>\n<li>Manage interviews, media responses, and press visits</li>\n<li>Build and maintain relationships with media and journalists</li>\n<li>Lead PR activities, media pitches, and event liaison</li>\n<li>Monitor media coverage and escalate risks when needed</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Content &amp; Editorial Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead development of Vietnamese-language content (press, web, social, articles)</li>\n<li>Ensure accuracy, consistency, and cultural/political appropriateness</li>\n<li>Maintain a strong and consistent editorial voice</li>\n<li>Coordinate translations, editors, and content production</li>\n<li>Align content with Global Communications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Campaigns &amp; Milestones (Communications Support)</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support campaigns through messaging, content, and media coordination</li>\n<li>Develop campaign narratives and materials</li>\n<li>Support key announcements and organisational updates</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Internal Coordination</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with programme teams to identify communication needs and risks</li>\n<li>Align with Global Communications while managing local priorities</li>\n<li>Provide internal guidance on Vietnam communications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Website &amp; Digital Content Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage and update Vietnam website content</li>\n<li>Coordinate with Global Comms, IT, and vendors</li>\n<li>Ensure content is accurate, approved, and up to date</li>\n<li>Maintain Vietnamese content archives</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Government &amp; Regulatory Sensitivity</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review content for political and regulatory risks</li>\n<li>Support leadership with messaging for official engagements</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Content Production &amp; Design Coordination</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide editorial oversight for all Vietnam-facing materials</li>\n<li>Translate communication needs into clear briefs</li>\n<li>Coordinate production of key materials (press, website, statements)</li>\n<li>Review outputs for accuracy, brand consistency, and risk</li>\n<li>Provide limited design support where needed</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Abilities:</span><br>Strong writing and editorial skills with attention to detail, able to translate complex information into clear content. Proven ability in digital content planning, stakeholder engagement, and managing reputational risks.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Knowledge:</span><br>Good understanding of Vietnam’s media landscape, regulatory environment, and digital communication channels. Familiar with content strategy, brand management, and political sensitivities.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience:</span><br>Solid experience in communications, media, or editorial roles, including digital content, social media management, and working with Vietnamese media.
