This role involves working directly with U.S. government military and civilian customers and our analytic partners to translate analytic needs into responsive, high-performance software applications within LMI’s Modeling, Simulation, Prototyping, Wargaming, & Analysis platform, RAPTR®. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors—helping agencies navigate complexity and outpace change.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop and maintain server-side logic by writing code that powers the application's functionality, handles user requests, and manages data.</li>\n <li>Create APIs that allow different parts of the application, or different applications, to communicate with each other.</li>\n <li>Design database schemas, write queries, and ensure data integrity and security.</li>\n <li>Ensure the application can handle a growing number of users and data efficiently.</li>\n <li>Work closely with front-end developers to integrate the back-end functionality with the user interface.</li>\n <li>Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.</li>\n <li>Participate in code reviews, debug developed code and stay current with software development trends.</li>\n <li>Ensure all changes or adaptations are thoroughly and meticulously reviewed, tested, and verified to eliminate application downtime or degradation.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop reusable code components, and ensure application accessibility.</li>\n <li>Actively participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPT’s) and other engineering working groups to review, assess, and mature engineering artifacts such as concept of operations (CONOPs), system architecture, system behavior, system interfaces, functional allocation, Interface Control Documents/Descriptions (ICDs), and data models.</li>\n <li>Provide meeting coordination, technical expertise, and software development to assist the customer decision makers.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent STEM-based degree.</li>\n <li>7+ years of experience as a Back-End Software Application Developer with a portfolio, and proficiency in modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Node.js, or Ruby.</li>\n <li>Experience with both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with back-end frameworks like Django, Flask, Spring, or Express.js.</li>\n <li>Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.</li>\n <li>Experience with efficient data storage and retrieval.</li>\n <li>Strong, demonstrable understanding of modern design and coding principles and practices.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).</li>\n <li>Knowledge of software performance optimization.</li>\n <li>Strong problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.</li>\n <li>Experience with testing frameworks.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of security practices.</li>\n <li>Active TS/SCI.</li>\n <li>Space domain experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Security Clearance Requirements: </strong>Candidate must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Poly, but no clearance is required to start (eligibility to obtain a clearance is required). Candidates with an active TS/SCI or TS with SCI Eligibility will be given preference.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Target salary range: <u>$112,000 - $199,999</u></p>\n<p>#LI-SH1</p>\n<p>Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances, due to the nature of the work.</p>",
