Description We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our Technology and Product Engineering team.
In this role, you will build and support both backend services and frontend interfaces that power the EMPACT platform. You will work across the full development lifecycle, from architecture and API design to UI implementation, integration, testing, and optimization. The goal is to ensure a seamless experience across backend systems, real-time training content, and immersive learning environments.
You will be part of a fast-paced, collaborative team working on features that directly impact how customers build and scale training programs.
How You’ll Work Own features from idea through release and iteration Work in short cycles and incorporate feedback quickly Collaborate with Product, UX, Content, DevOps, and Cybersecurity Move forward even when things are not perfectly defined Focus on solving real problems, not just completing tickets AI in Your Workflow We are looking for engineers who actively use AI as part of how they work.
You actively use AI tools (e.g., Open AI, and Copilot, Beads, Gastown, etc.) to accelerate development, explore solutions, and improve code quality. You actively use AI tools that scale workflows. You have practical workflows where AI helps with debugging, design decisions, and implementation You understand when to trust AI and when to validate or refine outputs You are interested in improving how AI is used across the team AI is not a bonus skill here. It is part of how we expect people to work.
Responsibilities Architecture and Development Build and maintain features across the full stack Develop APIs, services, and data models that scale Create user-facing components, dashboards, and tools Ensure systems work smoothly across web and immersive environments Quality and Security Write clean, testable, and well-documented code Participate in code reviews and technical discussions Follow secure development practices aligned with DoD standards Support testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes Collaboration and Delivery Work with designers to turn concepts into working interfaces Partner with DevOps and platform teams to ship reliable systems Stay close to user needs and feedback when building features Continuous Improvement Improve performance, architecture, and code quality over time Stay current with relevant technologies, including AI-assisted development Who You Are Comfortable working across frontend, backend, and integrations Experienced shipping real products used by customers Able to make progress without perfectly defined requirements Take ownership of what you build Care about performance, usability, and maintainability Curious and willing to try new approaches Skills Experience with a backend language such as Node.js, Python, C#, or Java Experience building REST or GraphQL APIs Strong experience with React or similar frontend frameworks Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firebase Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Experience with CI/CD pipelines Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Understanding of authentication and identity systems Preferred Experience with 3D or real-time systems such as Unreal Engine Familiarity with LMS platforms or training systems Experience building dashboards or analytics tools Knowledge of secure development practices such as CMMC or NIST Experience with event-driven systems or real-time communication Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes Requirements 3 to 6 years of full stack development experience Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Experience building production systems Must be authorized to work in the United States Work Details Remote Reports to the Lead Full Stack Engineer No visa sponsorship available Our Commitment We aim to build a team with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
