    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Senior Safety Specialist is responsible for overseeing and enhancing construction safety programs across the organization. This role provides hands-on, field-based safety leadership by leading jobsite safety initiatives, conducting comprehensive construction risk assessments, delivering safety training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all OSHA and regulatory requirements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Senior Safety Specialist partners closely with project teams to promote safe work practices on active construction sites. This position also mentors junior safety staff and takes a proactive approach to strengthening a culture of safety within construction operations at all levels of the organization.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure that the intent of Cullen policies, procedures and quality standards is followed in accordance with our Quality Management System.</li>\n <li>Participate in pre-job planning, Ops Planning, and attend 6-week jobsite visits to hold job teams accountable.</li>\n <li>Determine the means, methods and equipment during pre-construction evaluation phase.</li>\n <li>Develop and facilitate both formal and informal training sessions at job sites.</li>\n <li>Educate foreman on the daily work plan procedure and hold them accountable.</li>\n <li>Ensure that Subcontractors are conducting the proper training requirements as per the OSHA standards, review their safety programs, and prepare written reports of any violations.</li>\n <li>Assist safety director in investigations, near misses, and OSHA investigations.</li>\n <li>Ensure all field personnel are up to date on compliance requirements (OSHA 30, first aid, CPR, etc.).</li>\n <li>Conduct on-site inspections and control hazardous working conditions or unsafe employee activities through teaching and coaching.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety/health degree with at least three years of experience as a Safety Specialist OR completion of an Apprenticeship combined with a minimum of six years of construction experience.</li>\n <li>CHST, ASP, or CSP Preferred</li>\n <li>Proficiency with OSHA standards.</li>\n <li>Advanced knowledge of construction industry practices, risk management and field operations.</li>\n <li>Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local and company regulations.</li>\n <li>Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential.</li>\n <li>Good understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.</li>\n <li>Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Why JP Cullen?</h2>\n<p>We specialize in the “Tough Jobs” no one else can do.
