The Medical Assistant participates as a team member in the overall functioning of the clinic. The<strong> Medical Assistant</strong> is responsible for the flow of the patients for assigned providers (as applicable) each day. They perform duties and procedures as described in the Primary Responsibilities section.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Please note that this is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position, working Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:45 am to 4:15pm at the Northwest Clinic in Seattle, WA. </strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Rooms patients and families to exam/procedure area</li>\n <li>Documents vital signs and other patient information per clinic policy</li>\n <li>Assists with procedures as directed</li>\n <li>Conducts clerical tasks, patient transport, cleaning and restocking of exam rooms and other requests to maintain clinic flow</li>\n <li>Recognizes symptoms of common medical illnesses, abnormal vs., and new/existing pain and immediately escalates to RN and/or provider</li>\n <li>Performs Blood Draws as directed</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Customer Service</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acts as a liaison between patients/families and health care providers</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Completion of a medical assistant program offered by a school accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or</li>\n <li>Military training or experience may also satisfy the training and experience requirement</li>\n <li>Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the State's conduct and standards of practice.</li>\n <li>Interim Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington and must be familiar with the state’s conduct and standards of practice.</li>\n <li>Current Surgical Technologist Registration in the State of Washington within 30 days of hire as applicable, depending on location</li>\n <li>Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two years</li>\n <li>Proficient in email and word processing systems</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and customer services skills</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment</li>\n <li>Ability to multitask, prioritize and problem solve</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner</li>\n <li>Ability to follow direction and guidance</li>\n <li>Ability to recognize limitations and seek help</li>\n <li>Ability to identify learning needs and plan learning opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The hourly pay range for this position is from $29.77 to $42.39 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
