Description

Saltworks Technologies is a leading Canadian cleantech company solving two of the world's most pressing industrial challenges: water sustainability and critical minerals supply. We design and build advanced industrial water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies – in semiconductors, mining, automotive, and more. Saltworks is a 2025 Fast 50 Company and EY Entrepreneur of the Year award winner. The role: We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our growing QA team at Saltworks. This is a hands-on role supporting manufacturing and supplier quality activities, with a direct impact on the reliability and performance of our systems. You will play a key role in ensuring components and materials meet the high standards required for our advanced water and lithium processing technologies, while developing your skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Your main tasks will include: Performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections on purchased parts at Saltworks and, when required, at supplier sites. Conducting dimensional and visual inspections on welded fabrications, base materials, coatings, and plastic or fiberglass components using standard measurement tools. Verifying conformance to drawings, specifications, and ITPs, and maintaining clear, traceable inspection records (measurements, photos, and checklists). Identifying and controlling nonconforming material, and supporting NCRs through to resolution, including corrective action follow-up. Coordinating inspection activities, communicating status, and helping clarify requirements to prevent quality issues. Maintaining calibration records and inspection equipment inventory. Contributing to audits, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives through data collection and practical recommendations. Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and functional testing by witnessing inspections and confirming completion of test documentation. You will be a great fit if you have: Post-secondary technical education in science, engineering, or quality. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial quality environment. Solid understanding of dimensional measurement and quality standards. The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain technical information. A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and grow within a developing quality team. A Hands-on, collaborative approach and comfort working in a production environment. Valid passport and the ability to travel internationally as required. Bonus qualifications: Experience with weld inspections on structural steel or ASME pressure vessels and piping. Quality certifications and training such as ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector ISO 9001 - 2015 training or internal inspector certification. Why join Saltworks? At Saltworks, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues to solve complex, real-world problems – designing and delivering innovative water treatment and lithium refining systems for some of the world's most recognized companies. Every team member contributes meaningfully, from early-stage development through field deployment. Saltworks is investing intentionally in artificial intelligence for engineering and technical work. Engineering offers one of the longest runways for AI-driven productivity and automation, and Saltworks aims to be at the forefront of this shift. We provide the training, computational capacity, and practical tools needed for engineers and technical professionals to apply AI meaningfully in their work. We offer: Competitive compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, RRSP matching, life insurance, AD&D coverage, and an education allowance. Culture built on safety, innovation, diversity, and continuous learning. Collaborative, cross-functional team environment where every member contributes to project outcomes. Regular social activities and company events. How to apply If you would like to join the Saltworks team, please submit your resume (cover letters are not required). While we sincerely appreciate all applications, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. All applications are considered confidential. Kindly, no recruiters. Salary : Negotiable based on your experience, qualifications, and alignment with comparable roles internally. Location: 13800 Steveston Hwy, Richmond, BC V6W 1A8 #LI-Onsite
