Description

Description We are seeking a Warehouse Lead to support daily warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory organization, and verification of outbound shipments. This role is hands-on and operational, with added responsibility for coordinating workflow, maintaining standards, and supporting warehouse staff. The Warehouse Lead plays a key role in ensuring orders are picked accurately, inventory is organized and traceable, and incoming and outgoing materials move efficiently and safely. Responsibilities · Receive inbound shipments, verify quantities and condition against packing slips and purchase orders · Accurately record received materials in the inventory system · Prepare outbound shipments for delivery or customer pickup · Coordinate with drivers and internal staff to ensure timely shipments · Verify orders before shipment to ensure correct items, quantities, and documentation · Assist with staging orders for delivery routes or customer pickup · Maintain organized warehouse layout to support efficiency and safety · Label, store, and rotate stock appropriately · Assist with cycle counts and full inventory counts · Identify discrepancies, damages, or shortages and report them promptly · Act as a working lead by setting expectations and leading by example · Assist in training new warehouse staff on processes, equipment, and safety · Help prioritize daily tasks and workflow · Support a clean, safe, and professional warehouse environment · Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely · Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies · Proactively identify safety risks and communicate concerns Qualifications · 2+ years of warehouse or distribution experience (building materials preferred) · Experience with shipping, receiving, order picking, and inventory management · Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs · Strong attention to detail and organization · Basic computer skills (ERP, inventory, or shipping systems) · Ability to work independently and as part of a team · Previous lead, senior, or supervisory warehouse experience · Forklift certification or willingness to obtain · Experience with industrial or commercial building products · Familiarity with inventory systems and barcoding What We Offer Wellness Program Employee and Family Assistance Plan Employee Discounts Medical, Dental, Vision, RRSP Matching, and PTO benefits Growth and development opportunities through the greater J.D.
