Job Details
Compensation: $54,000 – $56,300 per year
Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Benefits: Competitive pay, benefits, growth opportunities, and a team that truly supports you.
Full Job Description
At TEAM, every Head Teacher walks through the door to the things that matter most to educators — a fully resourced team built around the child and supporting you.
When you are a Head Teacher at TEAM, you are supported by a complete multi-disciplinary team – including education coordinators who provide guidance and support to help ensure a high-quality educational experience, family service workers who serve as an additional, well-connected resource and support to each family, behavioral health coordinators who support the child, their family and you, disability specialists who guide educators to support each child's unique needs, and nutrition and health staff that support individual child health needs and overall well-being. For most teachers who have spent years being the only adult in the room — this is a different kind of job built around you and the children you teach. We believe great teachers deserve great support, which is why we promote a team focused culture to support the expertise you bring to the classroom.
What You’ll Do:
Bring each child's learning to life by tailoring curriculum, daily routines, and IEP/IFSP goals
Foster a safe and healthy environment where kids can play, learn, and grow
Collaborate with and guide your classroom team of 3 educators to foster each child’s unique school readiness goals
Build strong relationships with families, co-educators, and support staff
Observe children thoughtfully each week, using what you gather to shape meaningful, responsive instruction
Engage with our internal support team to help support children’s individual developmental needs
Attend and actively participate in staff trainings, meetings, and events
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities including regional & national conferences, in-service group seminars, 1:1 peer learning, and training via the Practice-Based Coaching model
Be a part of our staff recognition events including full agency development/appreciation day (off-site), multiple staff functions (family picnic, year-end party), and national appreciations such as Teacher’s Day/Week, Week of the Young Child
Qualifications
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor’s degree with 12+ ECE credits and two+ years experience in a preschool classroom
Knowledge of Head Start standards and Connecticut Early Learning and Development standards
A warm, nurturing presence and genuine love for working with young children and families
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Why TEAM
Supportive, team-oriented work culture
Beautiful, state-of-the-art classrooms and outdoor playgrounds focused on safety and innovation
15 days of paid vacation and 2 personal days
8 sick days and 14 paid holidays
Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life insurance
403(b) with 6% company match
Paid professional development and training
Focused planning time, 1:1 coaching
Significant opportunities for growth across our talented Early Childhood Team
