About Us: Kelley Engineered Equipment (KEE), founded by Brian and Cynthia Kelley in 2007, is a versatile engineering design firm and equipment manufacturer specializing in supplying custom equipment and solutions to customers across a variety of industries including heavy civil construction, underground construction, rail, and many others. About the Role: KEE is seeking a qualified Fluid Power Designer to expand the Control Systems team in our Gretna, NE headquarters office. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys tackling unique technical challenges, and brings a hands-on, adaptable approach to engineering. As a company committed to pushing boundaries and solving real-world problems, we're looking for individuals who are not only technically strong but also eager to contribute creative ideas and collaborate across disciplines to turn bold concepts into reliable, field-ready solutions. Responsibilities: Fluid power system design, schematics, component selection, and bills of material Provide both technical and hands-on support to internal and external stakeholders during production, shop testing, and site support (Traveling may be required for shorter periods of time) Maintain close collaboration with design team during all phases of project lifecycle, ensuring proper controls integration into the mechanical design Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors and suppliers Assist design team with the preparation of operations manuals and other relevant technical documentation Requirements: Associates degree in mechanical/systems engineering, or a demonstrated equivalent through formal training and experience 3+ years of experience in the design, installation, and troubleshooting of fluid power control systems including the preparation of fluid power schematics Strong interpersonal skills Ability and willingness to occasionally visit customer sites Employment sponsorship is not available for this role. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future company sponsorship. What Will Set You Apart: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software Experience with both mobile and industrial hydraulic systems Experience with radio-remote control system programming Fluid Power Specialist, Fluid Power Engineer, or similar certifications Experience in the heavy civil or underground construction industry Benefits: Minimum of 3 weeks paid time off, depending on experience 7 paid holidays annually (9 actual paid days off) Paid health insurance Health savings account with company contribution Simple IRA with employer match Flexible work schedule
