Job Summary:
Hotel Effie, a luxury Autograph Collection hotel, is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role is perfect for a creative and driven individual looking to elevate their career in a high-end, dynamic kitchen. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation of dishes, and leading a team of culinary professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an upscale dining experience, contributing your skills to a refined and memorable gastronomic journey for our guests.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment. Maintain high food quality standards, ensuring consistency in presentation and taste. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Monitor food inventory, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste. Develop and test new recipes in collaboration with the Executive Chef. Uphold Hotel Effie’s commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction. Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a fine dining or luxury hotel setting. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills. In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Frequent walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp objects, and varying temperatures. EOE M/D/F/V
