PDG is seeking a Team Leader to add to our growing and talented Bridge Design team.</p><p><br></p><p>As a Team Leader specializing in Bridge design, your role will include managing a team of bridge design staff, managing projects, preparation of proposals, preparing complete project documents for transportation projects; reviewing complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; and coaching junior staff in the preparation of design calculations, design details, specifications and cost estimates.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manages a team of Bridge Design staff</li><li>Manages Bridge Design projects</li><li>Manages the preparation of design calculations and details</li><li>Manages the preparation of contract plans and specifications</li><li>Manages the preparation of construction cost estimates</li><li>Manages the review of construction submittals</li><li>Performs occasional field visits to collect data and evaluate existing conditions</li><li>Performs occasional field visits to resolve construction issues</li><li>Performs oral presentations on technical topics to the public and other engineers</li><li>Participates in business development activities</li><li>Mentors lower level staff</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Possesses advanced knowledge of applicable engineering principals and techniques</li><li>Effectively expresses thoughts and ideas both verbally and in writing in the English language</li><li>Proficient in the use of applicable computer software</li><li>Performs assigned tasks accurately and efficiently</li><li>Is an active and supportive team member</li><li>Understands basic safety requirements</li><li>Able to lead multiple projects</li><li>Able to manage a team of Bridge Design staff</li><li>A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering</li><li>10 or more years of progressive experience in the field</li><li>Professional Engineer (PE)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><ul><li>Professional office environment</li><li>Occasional work outside of the office at project sites</li><li>Travels occasionally within NY State and surrounding areas</li><li>Interacts with other PDG personnel and clients</li><li>Receives training and mentoring when necessary</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p><ul><li>Must physically be able to perform field inspection work, e.g., carry/climb ladders, wade in streams, work around traffic, work at heights, etc.</li><li>This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer</li><li>This job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbs</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About Popli Design Group (PDG)</strong></p><p>PDG is a well-established multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering firm that has been serving clients since 1982.
