We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life.</p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>Reports to the substance abuse supervisor. Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of an effective alcohol and other drug abuse program with emphasis placed on awareness, prevention, staff training and networking with community resources in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management &amp; Training Corporation (MTC), and Florida Department of Corrections (FDOC) directives.</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n<p>1. Develop and implement a system to promote the coordination and integration of the substance abuse</p>\n<p>prevention components with other facility programs.</p>\n<p>2. Ensure the documentation of all inmates’ assessments and plans are in inmates' medical records</p>\n<p>regarding substance abuse problems.</p>\n<p>3. Provide ongoing comprehensive training for all staff members in the substance abuse area.</p>\n<p>4. Assist in providing substance abuse related materials and information in the health education program</p>\n<p>and development of health services standing orders and facility operating procedures regarding</p>\n<p>substance abuse.</p>\n<p>5. Conduct substance abuse and cognitive behavioral classes, group educational, peer support and other</p>\n<p>prevention sessions for inmates/staff.</p>\n<p>6. Encourage awareness of substance abuse issues throughout the facility.</p>\n<p>7. Develop linkages with community resources for substance abuse services.</p>\n<p>8. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and</p>\n<p>intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.</p>\n<p>9. Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.</p>\n<p>It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as</p>\n<p>determined by management.</p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, criminology or related field and where applicable, must possess appropriate certification. Two (2) years of substance abuse treatment experience preferred. Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements if approved by regional vice president. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.</p>\n<p><strong>Post Hire Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p>Must attain and maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
