Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) Wallops Island, VA requires support for management, engineering, operation, and technical expertise for activation, operations, maintenance and engineering of equipment, systems and computer programs in support of all Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) missions and projects performed at SCSC. SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric, maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate, and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling.</li>\n <li>Maintain compliance with DoD Security Technical Configuration Guides (STIGS).</li>\n <li>Monitor network performance.</li>\n <li>Respond to trouble calls, isolate, and correct performance issues.</li>\n <li>Maintain network drawings.</li>\n <li>Maintain training and certification for currently deployed technologies. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Travel</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position includes a low level of travel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge or Certifications Required</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree within the last five years in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or similar degree as listed in the DoD 8140 listings from an ABET accredited or NCAE designated institution.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>OR</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>One of the following certifications:</strong></li>\n <ul>\n  <li>CompTIA Cloud+</li>\n  <li>CompTIA Security+</li>\n  <li>GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)</li>\n  <li>Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)</li>\n  <li>Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)</li>\n  <li>Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security</li>\n  <li>CompTIA SecurityX (formerly CASP+)</li>\n  <li>Federal IT Security Professional-Operator-NG (FITSP-O)</li>\n  <li>GIAC Foundational Cybersecurity Technologies (GFACT)</li>\n  <li>GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>       OR </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>WAU DCWF 441 Network Operations Specialist - Intermediate Playlist</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired; however, candidates eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. The selected candidate will receive a contingent offer if they do not hold an active clearance.
