Lead Writer The Role We are hiring a Lead Writer to set the standard for our short-form first-person storytelling and to train our writers to write at that standard. This is a senior, leadership-level role weighted as much toward training as toward the page. Our scripts run 300 to 600 words, narrated at 60 to 180 seconds, written for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. You will write at the top of our quality bar, design and maintain the systems that keep our voice consistent across writers, and bring junior and mid-level writers up the curve fast. The training piece carries more weight than the writing piece. We hire individual contributors separately. What You'll Be Responsible For Writing original short-form first-person scripts at the top of our quality bar, on production cadence. Building and maintaining the systems that keep our voice consistent across writers, including hook frameworks, voice guides, narrative structures, and script SOPs. Training writers from junior to mid or senior on a measurable timeline with clear development milestones. Setting editorial standards that hold across high-volume output, and reinforcing them inside daily script reviews. Running feedback loops that develop the writer, not only the script. Partnering with editors, narrators, and channel leads on what's working, what isn't, and how to test. Owning the writers' development path from intake through performance review. Participating in hiring and screening to keep raising the talent bar of the writers' room. What We're Looking For Experience writing short-form first-person storytelling for TikTok, Reels, or Shorts. Demonstrated experience training writers from junior to mid or senior, with named examples and clear development outcomes. Track record building voice guides, hook frameworks, and SOPs at a previous company. Production-volume experience writing this exact format, not occasional features. Portfolio of scripts that performed at scale, with view counts and engagement data attached. Comfortable working in person every day at our New Brunswick, NJ office. What You Bring This is a senior leadership role inside our writing operation. Candidates should bring a portfolio that demonstrates voice and quality at the top of the format, plus visible evidence of training systems built and writers whose growth you can speak to specifically. We care about how you give feedback, how you defend a script, and how you carry yourself in a high-output writing room where the bar moves up every quarter.
