Grounded in its values, Mulilo fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration and purpose, while remaining committed to its environmental, social and governance responsibilities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About this role </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Construction Manager in the Renewable Energy sector is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all on-site construction activities for a utility-scale wind farm delivered under a full EPC contract. This role is site-based and ensures that all works – civil, electrical, mechanical, balance of plant (BoP), grid connection, and commissioning support – are completed, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the project’s timely and cost-effective completion.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duties and responsibilities</span> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Project Planning and Coordination</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Implement detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets for wind projects.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of construction activities with project goals and timelines.</li>\n<li>Lead day-to-day site construction operations across all work fronts (civil, electrical, mechanical, substations, OHL/UG cables, SCADA/telecoms, turbine erection interface).</li>\n<li>Establish a high-performance site team culture aligned with safety, quality, and delivery targets.</li>\n<li>Coordinate construction sequencing for e.g. access roads and hardstands, turbine delivery, storage, etc.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely delivery of long-lead items and site materials (turbines, transformers, switchgear, cable, rebar, concrete, cranes, etc.).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Construction Oversight</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.</li>\n<li>Monitor and coordinate the work of construction teams, including contractors, technicians, and general workers.</li>\n<li>Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify and resolve any issues or delays.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Safety and Compliance</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure all construction activities comply with local, provincial, and national regulations, including health and safety standards.</li>\n<li>Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment, including e.g., working at height, confined space etc.</li>\n<li>Conduct safety training for construction personnel.</li>\n<li>Act as the site accountable leader for HSE performance; enforce “Stop Work” authority and safe work practices.</li>\n<li>Ensure adherence to environmental and social management requirements (e.g., erosion control, waste management, community engagement protocols, biodiversity constraints).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Quality Control</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enforce quality control standards and procedures for all construction activities.</li>\n<li>Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and performance of installed systems and components.</li>\n<li>Address any deficiencies or non-conformities identified during inspections.</li>\n<li>Lead closure of punch lists, NCRs, and corrective/preventative actions in coordination with QA/QC and engineering.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Stakeholder Communication</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, engineers, consultants, and regulatory authorities.</li>\n<li>Provide regular updates on project status, progress, and any issues that arise during construction.</li>\n<li>Facilitate meetings and discussions to address project challenges and coordinate solutions.</li>\n<li>Support permit compliance, inspections, and audits; maintain site access control and community safety measures.</li>\n<li>Represent construction status in client meetings and coordinate client inspections and witness testing.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Budget and Cost Management</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial plans.</li>\n<li>Verify, and process payment certificates and change orders, for contractors and suppliers.</li>\n<li>Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.</li>\n<li>Implement robust progress measurement and reporting (daily reports, weekly dashboards, earned value or quantity tracking as required).</li>\n<li>Support integrated project reporting to the EPC Project Manager, including constraints and mitigation plans.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Documentation and Reporting</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, inspection records, and safety logs.</li>\n<li>Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, including milestones, budget updates and any issues encountered.</li>\n<li>Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete and up to date.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Problem Solving and Decision Making</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify potential issues and risks during construction and develop proactive solutions.</li>\n<li>Make informed decisions to resolve on-site challenges and ensure project continuity.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required skills and education background. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.</li>\n<li>Minimum of 8 – 15+ years of relevant experience in construction management, with at least 3 years in the renewable energy sector, including wind farm or large utility-scale infrastructure projects.</li>\n<li>Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma in a related field must have at least ten (15) years of relevant experience.</li>\n<li>Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale renewable energy construction on EPC or EPCM projects with multiple subcontractors.</li>\n<li>Windfarm construction experience (minimum 3 windfarms, full EPC).</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of solar/wind/BESS energy systems, construction techniques, and industry standards.</li>\n<li>Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.</li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in project management software and tools.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desirable attributes</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ideal candidate would have a passion for the Renewable Energy sector and personality traits would include a high level of diligence, determination, resilience, and agility.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Mulilo is an employer of choice and is offering an extremely competitive total remuneration package for this position.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Additional Information </span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Able to work overtime according to operational needs.</p>\n<p>Travel will be required occasionally.</p>",
