    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\">The Department of Allied Health Sciences, within the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time (9.5 month) Instructor position in hematology or immunohematology. The appointment is scheduled to begin on July 1<sup>st</sup>, 2026.</p><p>Applications consisting of a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and contact information of three references should be submitted. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.</p><p>Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate&#39;s qualifications, experience in clinical practice or clinical management, and experience in professional education.</p><p><strong>Major Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Teaching and student advising at undergraduate and graduate levels. Expected teaching responsibilities will primarily support the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Clinical Laboratory Science programs and include lecture and laboratory courses in hematology or immunohematology with additional Clinical Laboratory Science courses.&nbsp;</li><li>Work closely with the Clinical Laboratory Science Program Director to continuously improve the quality of instruction, assist with course planning, and support program accreditation.&nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to the service mission of the department, college, and professional community.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Works independently with little direction and confidentially with discretion</li><li>Maintains excellent organization skills</li><li>Demonstrates oral and written communication skills</li><li>Upholds a positive attitude and work ethic</li><li>Interacts effectively with members of the organization</li><li>Observes schedules and meet assignment deadlines</li><li>Willing to learn/enhance skills needed to perform responsibilities</li><li>Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Adobe, Office 365, One Drive and SharePoint</li></ul><p><strong>Education and Experience&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences focused on advanced topics, a Master of Science in Education, or a doctoral degree such as a Ph.D., Ed.D., or Sc.D</li><li>At least 3 years of experience in clinical laboratory science; this may also include teaching responsibilities</li><li>Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP), or an ASCP specialist certification or equivalent is preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. &nbsp;The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. &nbsp; The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. &nbsp;The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. &nbsp;Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
