Our foundational belief is the sacred value of human life. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows:</p>\n<h3>Housekeeping</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas as assigned while meeting or exceeding Sunrise’s quality standards.</li>\n <li>Perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as resident suites, bathrooms, common areas and offices:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop all flooring; spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners</li>\n   <li>Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures</li>\n   <li>Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture, dust desk and floor lamps, and clean and polish glass surfaces, woodwork, walls, and windowsills</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Knock on resident’s doors before entering and respect their privacy during the cleaning process.</li>\n <li>Knock on public restroom doors before entering and wait for a response before beginning the cleaning process.</li>\n <li>Maintain equipment and supplies needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition.</li>\n <li>Transport supplies, to include clean and soiled linen, to the appropriate storage and collection areas.</li>\n <li>Collect trash and remove and for maintaining trash receptacles and collection areas in a clean and sanitary manner.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Laundry</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Collect, clean, and redistribute the community laundry.</li>\n <li>Sort, wash, and dry linens properly following approved laundry procedures.</li>\n <li>Fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures.</li>\n <li>Inspect linens routinely for wear and tear, identify worn and torn linens, and follow the community’s Standard Operating Procedure for damaged linens.</li>\n <li>Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Resident Care</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care when requested.</li>\n <li>Practice positive resident relations following our Sunrise Shared Values; respond to resident requests and direct resident feedback and requests to immediate supervisor and or Care Manager.</li>\n <li>Review, read, notate, and initial Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent information and any resident’s physical and behavioral changes.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Safety and Risk Management</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use.</li>\n <li>Ensure any cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are always kept out of the way, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes.</li>\n <li>Partner with community team to ensure community is in compliance with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety requirements, promoting Risk Management programs and policies, and adhering to safety rules and regulations.</li>\n <li>Practice safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures.</li>\n <li>Maintain equipment and supplies to avoid waste and damage to areas and equipment and to prevent accidents.</li>\n <li>Comply with all infection control techniques, placement of bio-hazard containers and removal techniques, procedures, and policies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Training and Contributing to Team Success</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate as a member of a team and commit to working toward team goals.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate in daily interactions with others, our Team Member Credo.</li>\n <li>Commit to serving our residents and guests through our Principles of Service.</li>\n <li>Contribute to the overall engagement programs and processes (customer and team member engagement) including participating in the team member engagement survey and engagement improvement planning workshops.</li>\n <li>Attend regular meetings;
