MidWest Eye Center has a complete roster of board-certified Ophthalmologists, Retina Specialists and Optometrists, offering diagnosis along with surgical and non-surgical treatment for eye diseases MidWest Eye Center’s Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky locations are easily accessible from the surrounding Tri-state area.</p>\n<h2>Position Summary</h2>\n<p><strong>We are hiring a LEAD OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN for our WESTSIDE clinic.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a leadership role responsible for assisting MD’s and OD’s by managing clinic flow and overseeing the daily activities of the clinic and clinical staff.  Lead Techs are part of the clinical staff and are expected to work with the other Ophthalmic Techs when needed.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Direct clinic flow and oversee clinical activities</li>\n <li>Training and evaluating all new and existing Ophthalmic Technicians</li>\n <li>Oversee the preparation of minor procedures</li>\n <li>Collaborate with location managers on the doctor’s schedule, patient template and physician’s time off. Confirm accuracy in EMR.</li>\n <li>Support location based Ophthalmic Technicians</li>\n <li>Oversee care of patients and do periodical shadowing to ensure consistency</li>\n <li>Conduct team briefings before and after clinic to deliver important messages and changes in protocol</li>\n <li>Oversee triage protocols and communicate changes as needed</li>\n <li>Serve as liaison for physicians, technicians and administrative staff</li>\n <li>Complete monthly compliance training</li>\n <li>Assure completion of compliance training by Ophthalmic Technicians</li>\n <li>Delegate effectively and tactfully to team members while contributing to a positive work atmosphere</li>\n <li>Uphold and demonstrate commitment to company policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned: job descriptions are not intended to be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with a job.</li>\n <li>Ensure adherence of opening and closing procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><u>Other Duties</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure all clinical supplies are ordered</li>\n <li>Complete monthly inventory reports</li>\n <li>Assure regular calibration of equipment is done and documented</li>\n <li>Accurate clinical judgement</li>\n <li>Ability to pay attention to detail</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality</li>\n <li>Affable and outgoing personality with professional demeanor</li>\n <li>The ability to communicate effectively to employees and patients</li>\n <li>Ability to make independent, accurate decisions regarding the best use of his/her time</li>\n <li>The ability to seek advice from others when accuracy is uncertain, and findings are inconsistent</li>\n <li>An attitude that reflects a desire to go beyond the minimum required duties</li>\n <li>Understanding that dependent upon need there may be instances where he/she is asked to travel to one of the other locations</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree (preferred)</li>\n <li>Ophthalmic certification or five (5) years of ophthalmic technician experience</li>\n <li>Clinical supervision experience strongly preferred</li>\n <li>Proven ability to lead and develop a team and drive performance improvement, demonstrated by progressive increases in supervisory responsibility</li>\n <li>Proven ability to thrive in a highly matrixed environment</li>\n <li>Ability to work beyond the normal hours, as needed (including potential weekends)</li>\n <li>Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communications skills; written and documentation skills</li>\n <li>Professional & reliable demeanor with strong work ethic</li>\n <li>Excellent time management skills, organizing and prioritizing workload, in order to meet deadlines</li>\n <li>Ability to quickly learn new software, new systems, adapt to change and communicate effectively</li>\n <li>Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word and Excel</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external</li>\n <li>Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands where to route inquiries to next level with a strong sense of urgency</li>\n <li>Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail</li>\n <li>Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames</li>\n <li>Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes</li>\n <li>Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners and can effectively engage</li>\n <li>Ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams</li>\n <li>Strong problem solving and negotiation skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Company Benefits</h2>\n<p>We offer a competitive benefits package to our employees:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical</li>\n <li>Dental</li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>401k w/ Match</li>\n <li>HSA/FSA</li>\n <li>Telemedicine</li>\n <li>Generous PTO Package</li>\n</ul>\n<p>We also offer the following benefits for FREE:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Discounts and Perks</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Group Life/AD&D </li>\n <li>Short Term Disability Insurance </li>\n <li>Long Term Disability Insurance </li>\n</ul>\n<p>EyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
